signs of pregnancy

Hi,
I'm 38 yrs old and I believe I may be pregnant. I had my regular period the last week of March and 11 days later, I got it again. In between, my boyfriend and I had unprotected sex and I'm wondering if it's possible that I may be, even though I've read that the older a woman is, the more difficult it is for her to get pregnant, but I've been feeling the symptoms of pregnancy, including the frequent urination, some nausea, and lower back pain. It's been over 18 yrs since my last baby, so any info will be helpful.

I took the test and it was negative, but tests can be wrong. I'm also thinking that maybe it's pre-menopause. I think I'm going to wait for my next period before I take any more tests.

I really hope that it works out for you. Keep on fighting :)

I have undergone a tonne of tests now, and they can't find a darn thing wrong with me, except I was a bit underweight (not anorexic or anthing, just a "little person".., and borderline anemic.  I put on 10 lbs as suggested and am on iron therapy now.  Also, I will be going on chlomide shortly (still not 100% sure why Dr. wants me on it, but I have another appointment this week, so I will get more explanation).  I conceive naturally without too much trouble, but the longest I have made it is almost 10 weeks.  I know the rate of miscarriage is only slightly elevated at our age, but its really the only thing besides a now corrected weight issue that makes any sense...its frustrating.  I almost wish they would find something wrong with me so they could fix it...

Let me know the outcome of your test.  Take care.

Thanks, and no, haven't taken the test yet. On my way to get it now. Am a bit nervous, but need to know. Is there a particular reason why you can't carry to term? I've read that older women usually have to take a few extra precautions, but nothing too different from younger women unless they have certain illnesses.

Although it can be a bit more challanging for us 35+ to conceive, its certainly not uncommon or even unlikely.  I am 39 and although I haven't carried to term yet, I seem to get pregnant fairly easily. And this forum is alll women 35+, and lots of them have conceived naturally.  Have you taken a home pregnancy test?  I would think that you would get a positive at this point if you were.  Or a blood test through your doctor?  Good luck to you, I hope you get the outcome you are looking for.
