Thank you for commenting. I can rest a little easier.
I had a small hematoma(hemmorage) outside the sack when I was pregnant with my first son. I also had low progesterone and I had bleeding and spotting for 15 weeks. My son is now 8. I didnt take heparin. At the time they did not know the cause. Now they suspect I have a clotting disorder. My son also has the same disorder.(discovered recently/accidentally when my son and then me, had to have surgery) I am going to see a hematologist next month. Basically our blood doesnt clot fast enough.
that is good that your doc is reassuring and that you will getting many ultrasounds...i have been going monthly since my 2nd trimester started for an ultrasound but if something happened they would have brought me in more...i will be starting the 3rd trimester next week and my high risk doc said last time that my ultrasounds will be moved up to 1-2 weeks so that they can monitor closer
being monitored closely is part of the key to keeping my sanity through all of this
i lost a baby back in 2008 at 15 weeks from a blood clot they think burst inside my utuerus causing my water to break and me to almost bleed to death...i lost the baby and almost my own life...testing found the blood clotting disease i had and the decision was made to use heparin from there
i had another miscarriage at the end of 2008 but that was at 7 weeks...most likely blighted ovum
this is my first preg using heparing and so far things have been progressing very nicely and the baby and myself have been healthy
best of luck to you
Actually to reiterate, it IS a subchoronic hemorrhage, but what I meant was, it may just be from an unknown cause, and the above is basically what my doctor said, and why I shouldn't worry that much.
Thanks for responding! It may have nothing to do with the shots, but I'm seeing my hematologist after I get my blood tests back. (It will be my first blood test since I started using the Heparin.) It could just be a subchorionic hemorrhage, which I hear is often seen during a first trimester ultrasound. It is "seen in many pregnancies and often is of no consequence..... Most subchorionic hemorrhages are small and will not have an effect on the pregnancy. They generally clear up by the second trimester." Still, my doc said she'll see me for weekly ultrasounds, and after two miscarriages, I am taking it easy!
i have been taking heparin since i was about 5 weeks preg...im currently just about 27 weeks preg and have had no issues with the heparin....i would talk to your hemo about the ultrasound and see what they say about it
best of luck
