smoking during pregnancy

.i am 37.4 weeks now.my c_section has been scheduled for march 6..i smoked all through my pregnancy.at this point I am just so scared am having lots of weird thoughts about hurting my baby because of my smoking.and even at that the best I could do is smoke only one a day.i would love to not smoke a t all but its extremely hard.can only one cigarette a day hurt my baby at this point?Ok.I am not here to be judged.I realized my addiction to nicotine is stronger than me.. and that doesn't determine my love for my baby.being alone  is not helping either.

One cigarette is ok, i quit smoking several years ago and the stress on the body would be worse. My mother in law smoked through all her pregnancies and they were low birth weight but all very smart, healthy people. My mother quit with me and i was born with a hole in my heart, same with my brother she quit cold turkey and he was born not breathing. Whether or not its related, who is to say but most people i know that smoked (they all cut way back) while pregnant had healthy babies.

Your baby will have low birth weight. My aunt smoked both pregnancies and both of her kids came out underweight and slow learners.

My friend smoked with both her babies not really heavy she did cut down. Both her boys are fine. My mum smoked with all her kids as did her mum with hers no horror stories. I'd say well done on cutting down to one and stop worrying and start being happy as your meeting your baby soon yay :)

Ive heard a few ppl who were told not to quit just cut back because the stress of stopping all together is worse than anything else. I thought u needed to stop though for surgery talk with ur doc if u haven't so they can make any adjustments for u n babys care

My friends mom smoked with them... I'm not sure how much she smoked and they turned out ok (twins). I used to smoke and stopped each time. But I was never a heavy smoker and thankfully never craved one. What had our Dr said? Don't they say cut down if you can't quit?
