I wouldn't bd at all either Amanda until the spotting stopped.  I bd'd (well w/hubby - LOL) once during my 1st trimester and walla - spotting and it was not brown - more like red/pink.

Keep us updated, hon  - jen

I actually had a pretty strange thing happen.  Late last night I had a super sharp stabbing pain in my lower right side.  It was over really quick, but it took my breathe away for a second.  This morning I had a teeny drop of bright red blood, and since then nothing...no spotting, no anything.  Still having strong symptoms.  I am wondering if I had a cyst and it erupted last night.  I have had them before, and that was sort of what happened then too.  I did not bother to call OB as today I am absolutely fine...but makes me wonder.

Amanda,
when I started spotting I was told by both ER doc and my OB:
NOT PELVIC ACTIVITY!!!  That means no bd  :(
My spotting was due to a hematoma which was seen on the u/s at about 7 weeks.  It was huge though...

I had brown spotting quite a bit at the beginning of this pregnancy (never had before). It was enough that I had to wear a panty-liner every day. I swear, between the spotting at the beginning and the kicks to the bladder beginning about ten weeks ago, I have kept Kotex in business. LOL. Anyway...I just wanted to let you know that I had the same thing...a lot of watery, brown spotting. Sometimes it was more jelly-like - but usually watery. I also had pink (sometimes streaked with red) spotting after BD through the first trimester. As you know, everything is fine! Anyway...I just have this strong feeling that you're going to make it this time, my dear! I think about you daily and send out positive thoughts to your little bean!

Hiya Amanda,
Think I've told you before, but I spotted throughout all three of my boys' 1st trimesters; mostly brown, but sometimes even with a little pink.  I was always checking whenever I wiped, and even would pull my panties down for a peek between trips to the bathroom (wore a panty liner).  I was always paranoid.  To be honest, even after the 1st trimester I still worried... all the way through till birth.  I was always jealous of other blissfully pregnant ladies who seemed so worry/care free.  It seemed so unfair that I couldn't really "enjoy" my pregnancy, because of all my previous MC's which took the joy away and made me realize how fragile a new little life can be.  However, look at me now... all that stress and my fears were for naught, and I've got three little ones to show for it.  For me spotting was just part of a normal healthy pregnancy... and I'm sure it will be the case for you too!  Keep the faith. :)

One thing- with all 3 of mine though, my OB said no bd'ing until in to the 2nd trimester (once I had some spotting).  I don't think it was so much that bd'ing would hurt the baby, but obviously my cervix was very sensitive which was causing some of the bleeding (and that seeing the spotting was adding stress to me which wasn't needed).  Also, as far as the bm's, if your prenatal is causing harder/firmer ones which cause you to strain, you may want to look in to a different brand or start drinking more water.  Constipation usually only gets worse as the pg goes on-- trust me, I was the queen of prunes! :)

Hey girly!

I spotted twice this pregnancy with Cruz. Once at 5 weeks and once again around 12 weeks. And as you well know all is still good!!!  I would lay off the exercise though....didn't you know that pregnancy is the one time is okay to get fat!!!! he he he

I know the spotting is driving you crazy, heck I still examine the tp everytime I wipe!! Just stay positive and keep thinking about that little heartbeat!!!!!!

You are doing great so far! I just wish you were out of the 1st trimester, then when can all sit back and relax!!!!!!  Stop thinking about all the negative experiences from your past and start focusing on all the positive ones that are surrounding you now!

Sending you big hugs, but making sure not to squeeze your very sore boobies!!!!

Love ya,
Rachel

Yeah, I told her at my appointment last week.  She was not overly concerned about it as we had seen the healthy heartbeat.  She basically said that my odds this time of going full term are far higher then in previous pregnancies, just because we saw the heartbeat.  She said if it turned to full out bleeding (which it hasn't) or was accompanied by cramping (which it's also not) to call her.  Otherwise, we pretty much just have to wait and see.  We are doing that other ultrasound in 2 weeks, but she said not much point in doing one before that.  She did say if all was well at next ultrasound, chances are things would continue to go well.  The spotting is only once in a while, although it is pretty much daily.  It seems to be mainly after a bm or bd.  It is always brown and really watery, and stops almost right away.  I know it's probably nothing and it is not uncommon, it's just for me, it has never been good news.  In previous pregnancies though, once it started, it was there every time I wiped after going potty.  Not the case this time around, so I try to stay positive.  It just sends a little jolt of fear through me every time.  I am taking it easier then normal...limiting excercise, and I think I will abstain only because it scares me when I spot.  Symptoms are still really strong...going to need new bra's pretty quick as they have grown and most of the time they hurt!  Still having all day nausea, and I love having naps if I can...always tired.  So these are all good signs.  It's mostly my paranoia and fear at work here.  I just can't seem to accept that all might be ok this time.  I want it to be more then anything, but I guess my experiences have really done a number on me.  I just need to keep taking it day by day and stay positive.  There is every reason to believe all is well, and very little to believe it's not.  Thanks for caring...it feels good to get it all out.  In all honesty, I am terrified.  It's sad really, because I would love to just be enjoying.  I don't even mind the breast pain or the nausea...it's sort of a badge of honor for me and I fully accept it and even welcome it!  In all honesty, even if there was no spotting, I would probably be scared.  I just need to figure out ways to relax and not stress...sadly easier said then done.  Thanks again Meli, it really does feel good to let it all out.  XOXO  Amanda
