some updates

hey everybody...so im slowly working my way out of the first trimester...11 weeks 2 days :)  ....so happy i have made it this far...i got engaged this past week...i really feel like im on cloud 11

i had my follow up appt today and just wanted to share how that went....she reviewed my u/s results from (7 weeks 5 days) and everything was great....my bloodwork results were great too...more smiles :)

i had my pap done today and she checked my uterus location

the only sad thing was she couldnt find the hb with her doppler but said that the ones in the office were cheap and she prob wouldnt pick up the hb until 12-14 weeks....sad :(     so now im worried....i came home and got my doppler out but the batteries were dead....more saddness....so im a bit freaked out....but heading out shortly to buy batteries

i also move up to 7500 units of heparin from 5000 so i guess as my doc said i graduated to the next level of heparin...exciting

and i am moving on to the maternal fetal medicine doctor (not sure if thats the correct verbage)...im currently waiting for the nurse to call me and let me know when my next appt is...

does anybody know what to expect with a maternal fetal doc? i have never been to one before but my ob said that they will be making a lot of my preg decisions from here on out...i think they have the better u/s...but i have no clue what to expect there

finally my ob said i dont need to see her every 2 weeks so im on a 4 week visit now...next appt is 4/13 when ill be almost 16 weeks....that is truly when everything is going to get exciting

Congrats: a pregnancy plus a wedding: you're going to be one busy lady!

Maternal fetal docs are the best, I have been followed by a team since my 1st belly ultrasound and I really enjoy the interactions with my team. I have monthly ultrasounds with them and last week (30 weeks), they put me on a non-stress monitoring of the baby's heartbeat once a week, it reassures me to be closely monitored!

Don't worry about the heartbeat.Dr's have always had trouble finding mine. With my second baby, I had to have an u/s because they couldn't find the heartbeat at 14 weeks. And at my last appt. it took her a good 3-4 minutes to find the heartbeat and I was 15 weeks. Crazy! Congratulations on your engagement!

Congrats on all the great news!!! My OB is a Maternal Fetal Medicine Doctor and I love it! He has all the greatest and newest techonology and he is just so super!!!!! I am sure you will be pleased with the yours too!

That stinks about the doppler! When I was 12wks I went to the ER for bleeding and the could  not find the HB with the doppler so they did a u/s and sure enough there was Cruz bouncing around! You would think with all the money we spend at their hospital/office they could at least have up to date equipment! Seriously pregnant women have enough going on!!!!! At my OB's office they always found it at 10wks so that is what really freaked me out about the ER!

Looking forward to hearing about your progression! Congrats!
