the heart stopped beating

Hi,,
i was pregnant and in 35th week when bad cramps started i went to the doctor and she said that my baby's heart stopped beating.. i have bicornuate uterus and the pregnancy was really painful for me as there wasn't enough place for my baby in my uterus. i gave a normal  birth. two days before it when i went to the doctor by ultrasound she said that there were some changes in my baby's heartbeating. it was beating slowly and the reason she said was the bad flu i had during 7 month pregnancy. beginning from 33rd week the baby was moving 1-2 times a day.(no enough room in my uterus, as doctors said). also they said that the baby had some defects(liver enlargement and so on) i wonder if bicornuate uterus be the reason of this death or was itreally because of an infection? it was my first pregnancy.

I also am so very sorry for what you have been through. How heartbreaking.

The questions you ask here are one's that really only a Dr. can answer.  Yes, women do carry term with a biocarnuate uterus, but of course that can vary a great deal from women to women.  Given that you went 35 weeks, I find it unlikely that was the reason for your babies passing.  It is more likely a result of the other issues such as the liver enlargement.  Of course, I am not a Dr. and am only speculating.  I do think that you should have this conversation with a Dr.

I wish you peace and healing and as Ecologic said, please take extra good care of yourself.

So sorry for your loss, I agree with the others, it is unlikely your uterus alone caused these issues. The idea to write your questions down is a very good one.

I'm so very sorry, I too lost my baby at 29.5 wks and it is truly devastating. My loss was for different reasons (avoidable but not spotted at antenatal appointments). When you're feeling a little better, make a list of questions for your Dr. I would always forget half of the things I wanted to discuss. Give yourself lots of time to grieve for your precious baby, I promise it won't always hurt so bad.

So sorry about your loss! I believe you cn carry to term with a bicornate uterus, but I am not sure. Take care of yourself and take time to mourn your baby!
