I am 20 weeks with my third, so it will be interesting to see.  My first and second were both about the same amount of time.  And both were VERY different labors.  The first one was pitocin, epidural, the whole hospital thing.  The second at home, eating and drinking and no drugs.  The beginnings of both were very slow and easy relative to the tough part, so I'm not complaining. Looking forward to see if the third is much different than the last one.  I have been working on reading up on methods to relax during contractions and hubby and I are taking a Bradley class, so hoping that might help too.  I think attitude about labor plays a role in the progress/process of the whole thing.

My third was just about the same amount of time as my first.  My second was short, quick, and easy (as labor goes at least).

Im on #5 and I dont know if I believe that they come faster, or if you just get better at being patient and waiting until labor gets more intense. With #1 I was at the hospital after my first few contractions. #4, I went to sleep and waited until they were bad before leaving for the hospital.
