Hi, I have great insurance here in the states and when you have your tubes tied they don't pay for any fertility anything, maybe blood work and U/s, I payed for my ivf, get, tubal reversal and both my iui's. there are drs here that do reversals for less, my Dr. Is from Canada, he specializes in TR. He's a little more but I wanted to stay close to home
Good luck to you
Melanie
I believe she is talking about National Health System, which I know they have in Canada. Everyone in Canada has health insurance, when in turn makes everything up there, terribly expensive, to help pay for national health care.
I am told that the health care up there is pretty good. But my girl friend tells me that she practically pays double for everythiing, as compared to the United States. It is NOT welfare insurance, by the way. Anyone is eligible as long as you are a resident and citizen.
If I am wrong about anything, I hope that someone will correct me.
I think about you all the time, Tricia.
Big Hugs,

Not sure what "nhs" is - but you followed up with saying you're on benefits. So is that state medical benefits? Like Medi-Cal in California? (That's our health benefits that come with state aid, i.e. welfare.) If yes, I seriously doubt if reversal would be covered. If it IS, I want to move where you live. I have really good health insurance, and it wasn't covered. My husband and I (with some help from amazing people) paid for the surgery. I had it 11 months ago - we are not pregnant yet. But we haven't been doing as much as we could to make it happen. Also, they could only repair one tube.
Now, forgive me for asking this, but it's something to think about. If you ARE on aid, why in the world would you want to have the taxpayers pay for your surgery, then have another child if you don't even have a job? If I misunderstood and you are NOT on public aid, I apologize in advance for the assumption.
hi
my friend had this done last yr after a few yrs of being sterilised, she is now pregnant. she had it done privately...
Many women do have successful tubal reversals. You would have to talk to your carrier as to whether it would be covered. Also, you would need to see an RE to discuss the likelyhood of success. It does happen. Another option is IVF, and you might want to explore that as well. Which would be more likely to be successful depends on your individual situation. Make an appointment with an RE. Good luck to you.
