Implantation? Or premenopause?

Ok, here's my situation....My cycle is 26 days. I'm like clockwork. The first day of my last period was Jan 17th. I expected my next period Feb 12th. At 8 days late, I wound up on the ER because of severe lower right abdominal pain. The hospital performed a urine and blood test, both of which came back negative. They also performed 2 ultrasounds, one external the other trans-vag, and saw no baby on utreo.  I had also performed several home pregnancy tests all of which said negative. I had left the hospital confident that I was not pregnant. That all happened last Thursday. On Sunday, which was Feb 24th, I had bright pink spotting for one day. My husband and I do enjoy a healthy and active sex life without protection. Sunday would be 13 days after when my next period was due. As of today, I'm 14 days late, had bright pink spotting at 9 days late after having had bloodwork and an ultrasound confirm that I'm not pregnant. I am 40, so I.just figured  getting towards premenopause . But I'm  wondering if the bright pink spotting could have been implantation? Any response would be appreciated

That seems really late to me for implantation.  Implantation usually happens 7 to 10 days after ovulation, not after missed period.  I'm wondering if you might just be having a wonky cycle this month.  That can happen at our age.  I could definitely be wrong, but I'd suspect that if you were pregnant it would have shown up when you went to hospital at 8 days late, especially since they did bloodwork.  Good luck.

The only way to know either way is to go to your doctor for more blood tests. They need to look for hormonal signs of perimenopause. And since its been a few more days, if you are pregnant, they should be able to tell that too.
