Vitamin K is a vitamin shot. It is not a vaccine.

I think those who are opposed to a vitamin K shot for baby should do more research. Vitamin K can prevent a bleeding disorder, not blood clotting. Vitamin K aids in the ability of blood to clot, which is why it is given to newborns as a preventative measure. A lactation consultant friend sent me a link to an article, which includes statistics, about this very debate. http://evidencebasedbirth.com/

Thhts good to know. I may have to look in to %. The one thing I didnt even think of. Thankyou. And I do partially agree with what your saying but vaccines are being changed constantly and I believe that just because something works for one peraon without causing issues I still believe there is an opposite effect to others. I believe everyone has been a 'guinea pig' at one stage or another. Look at the food society consumes. .. do we know what it 'may' do in say 50 years time or to the next few generations? Life is trial and error.

Didnt given it to my baby girl she was born 2 years ago and nether this one thats coming soon. Since it was so many resercers saying that that vacc wasnt fully developed. And our babies generation is the ginny pig for that vacc so its not 100% shure if its actually work.
And the k vacc is only for the first weeks of the babies life so they wount get blood clots etc but its such a smal % of that that its not a big deal as they are putting it trew.
Basicly ur child will be the gunny pig for the vacc, before the resercers can actually say the good and bad.
My friends are very vaccination alert so it was alot of disscutions and evidence about the unesecerity of the vacc. Even many nurses and doc, said that U shouldnt give it in many articles here up in north.

I personally am concerned about vaccinea FULLSTOP, although from what I have been told and what I understand I have made the decission that my baby will be getting the Vit K shot, as it seems like its better for baby if I do. I think also it depends on delivery too. Each to their own, but thats the choice I have made.
