went to the dr. again - acupunture anyone??

Has anyone had acupuncture while pregnant?  I'm thinking about getting it done for my sinus infection. I went to the dr. today and he wanted to give me a zpac and I said no way. 1 - it doesn't work  2 - i'm preggers  3 - they make me worse.  But I did let him give me a steroid shot. He said it would not hurt the baby in any way. I didn't like it but I did it. I'm absolutely miserable with this stuff.  So I'm really thinking about accupunture for it.

i had acupuncture throughout prep for IVF, and in the first 2 weeks after the embrio transfer. i swear by it! i will go back in a heartbeat if preg symptoms become unpleasant. i'm lucky so far, no nausea! also previously had acupuncture for backache, migraine and carpal tunnel syndrome. nothin better in my opinion. and if you are worried about the needles, dont. they are super thin and you will not be bothered by them

I've never done acupuncture so I can't give any input there. I would stress too much over the needles and I think that would negate any positive effects LOL

If this is viral why did he want to give you a z-pack? FYI Zithromax is Pregnancy Category 2 (same as Tylenol) so is considered safe during pregnancy.

It kind of sounds like he isn't sure what it is though...he didn't take a sputum culture or anything? Blood work? A WBC count with Differential would give a good indication of what this infection is...different types of WBCs activate to fight different infections so a Differential is a decent guide...better than prescribing blindly :)
