what doctor said

Hi ladies.  I called the doctor yesterday to let them know I was miscarrying and he had me come in.  He did an u/s and it showed that everything has passed, so that was good news.  He said he thinks my progesterone could be the problem because it's been really low all three times.  He said that although it went from 5.8 to over 40 once he put me on the supplements, it was probably too late, so he wants me to start taking the progesterone 48 hours after I ovulate.  So that's the new plan.

But what I really wanted to share with you all is this:  I said something about it probably being my age (44) that is the reason I keep having m/c's, and he looked at me and said, "nope. you're no spring chicken, but you're definitely not old and not too old to have baby, not by any means."  That just made me feel so much better.  Now, I'm not stupid and I do know that age plays into it, but it's just so nice to have a doctor who's completely on my side and wants to move forward.  Anyways, just wanted to share.  Blessings to all.

Thank you for sharing what your doctor said to you, that was really encouraging. When I was 43, I went to see IVF Dr. Green in Calgary, he saw my FSH(14.5), he said that was really bad, I needed an donor egg if I wanted to have a child. He made me feel totally no hope. Since then, I didn't seek any that kind  of Drs. Now I am 45, I am pregnant for almost 8 weeks now, although I didn't how this baby is doing in me. I will know more by this Friday through an Ultrasound. I am using vaginal type progesterone, twice pills a day. I asked my OB to give me this prescription. She said she is natural about progesterone.

I'm glad the physical ordeal is over, and I'm glad you have a supportive Dr.  My OB is much like that as she too had her child in her 40's.  It does make things so much easier.  Yes, age does impact things, but lots can have babies at our age.  Both my OB and RE said that the fact that we continue to conceive makes our chances that much better.  Now it's just a matter of finding that good egg.

I'm so sorry you had to go through this again.  And thanks for checking in with us.  You have been on my mind.  Take good care, and glad your sticking around!

Glad your dr is supportive.  I had 2 m/cs and all they ever found was low progesterone.  I took supplements for all of my pregnancies.  Good luck to you.
