what should I do?

Im timing contractions every 4-5mins they feel like sharp period pains which start in my lower back then round to my stomach.
Can I go to hospital without my waters breaking or sshould I wait till they go?
Im a first time mum, im 40+6 and had a second membrane sweep today xx

If baby is back to back, I suggest getting on your hands and knees on your bed. It will help baby hopefully turn and will relieve your back pain as much as possible at this point. My last baby was like this. When my contractions started I layed down on my side to help ease pain. I finally got up during one contraction and stood in my shower....caused my water to break and I was 2 minutes apart from that point on. I was kept at hospital since water broke but it was a long labor. I couldn't get on my knees since I had already been given an epidural. The nurse and I finally took a bed sheet and played tug of war during contractions and baby finally turned. but if you are at home and can get on all 4....it will help!!! Best wishes to you both!!!

I can't sleep either.  I've been having contractions for 13 hours now, and I've been especially miserable the last 4.  It hurts too bad to fall asleep for more than ten minutes at a time, so I've given up on sleeping.  Waiting for them to get close enough together again so I can go back.

I was 4 minutes apart, but still not dilated enough, so I'm back at home.  Contractions hurt more now but are further apart again.
