Have anyone asked their doctor to put them on a early leave from work. ...I'm 35+5 and been in a lot of pain, I also been taken to the hospital from work 3 times now and at the hospital they tell me to get plenty of rest but can't do that when i work 10 hour day that takes me a hour to get to work and a hour back home...it feel like the closer it get the more pain im in..

Please let me know how u approached ur doctor? Thank u in advance

I was told by my ob that she had to have a medical diagnosis to take me out. So high blood pressure which causes you to be put on bed rest, risk of continuing to work may not be good for baby I'm not 100% sure on what or how they could word it to make it medically necessary. I've been having issues with my pregnancy kidney stones, and those arm to be gone right now but now I get this headache that last at least 3 days and I can't even function and I really don't want to work so I talked to her and she just said she doesn't have a medical diagnosis for me and why I'm getting the headaches cuz my blood pressure is stable right now and so she can't pull me out with out the diagnosis or I won't get my short term disability. Every insurance is different you could always call your insurance and find out for sure cuz mine is only because of my short term disability that it has to be medical related or I have to be 36 wks for her to pull me out.

My first post should have said if you want to use short term disability. I'm not sure if you have insurance through your work that offers the short term disability but to use it you have to have a medical reason to be pulled out of work. I've talked to my Dr about it. Now I'm looking into a intermittent leave so I only have to work 4 hours 4 days a week. If you don't have anything like that then I would just ask your doc for a note cuz they should be understanding and give you one I know mine would.

Idk what state your in but California let's you off work at 36 weeks, then gives you 6 weeks after baby is born. This is standard.

My doctor told me at my last visit she could pull me out at 36 wks anything before that has to have a medical reason if I want to be able to get my short term disability. Are you able to cut your hours that could help if so. That's what I did. Good luck
