You're human :) I try mentally picturing flushing negative thoughts and worries down the toilet.  Just deal with what actually comes up, you'll drive yourself crazy if you let your mind wander!

And congrats!

My SIL had her first at 40 and second at 42 with no complications.  She did have some extra screening tests offered to her but she's healthy, active, and young.  I think age can be a state of mind.  There are always risks at any age but if you don't add extra lifestyle risks like smoking, obesity, & sedentary lifestyle just stay positive and get ready for your new lifestyle. :)

Sorry, meant to say that I'm proof that most pregnancies are normal (was typing to fast).

I am also 40 with my first baby and now 20 weeks! It is exciting but also stressful. Genetic disorders increase with age. I lost a pregnancy last year after my baby was diagnosed with trisomy 13. It was devastating and a lengthy process to go through but luckily all genetic testing is negative this time around. I wish you the best on this amazing journey. I learned that overall even though our risks increase with age, most pregnancies are normal and I'm proud of that.
