Maternity belts are awesome. They have really eased my back pains and helped my posture. It's a bit of a chore to find one that is comfortable and right for your shape though. I tried three before finding one that felt good on my belly and across my hips without pokey Velcro digging into my skin.

That's how I felt. I carry really low and my kids dropped towards the end and I would walk holding my belly up. Picture a HUGE waddle! Always ask your ob's office any questions because they've heard it all and you never know what's important.
