Could I be pregnant now after having Tubal Ligation surgury 7 years ago?

To those of you who can relate,

I'm 37 years old and had my Tubal Ligation done 7 years ago(Cut and Burned).  I have two wonderful children:  Son 14, Daughter 11.  I'm now two weeks late, feel tired, bloated, and my breasts are slightly swollen.  I've just done 3 pregnancy tests- two were questionable and one was negative.  I pray that everyones prayers are answered.  Like many of you, I regret having the Tubal Ligation done.  I have a wonderful man in my life now who has three grown children from a previous marriage and it would be nice to think we could be having one of our own.  I'll keep everyone posted.

I am in a similar situation such as yourself. I have 2 children and yes 7 yrs ago I had a tubal ligation. Right now I am going thru some weird things myself. I had a period that lasted only 2 days when it normally last 5. I have been nauseated every day where I feel like I am going to throw up. My breast are swollen and boy oh boy are my nipples sore. So I could definitely feel where you are coming from. I have taken 1 pregnancy test that like as you stated was questionable so at this point what I am going to do is take another pregnancy test as well as make an appointment with my doctor. So definitely let us know what happened with yourself as well as I will also let you all know what is going on with me. I do know that if I am pregnant and the baby is planted in the right area then my husband as well as myself would be very happy.

I have been a registered sonographer for 13yrs, and have seen one instance of someone getting pregnant after a tubal ligation, unfortunately it was a tubal pregnancy. The fertilized egg could not progress into the uterus due to the scarring from the ligation. So, it's possible, but I would get your doctor to do a transvaginal ultrasound ASAP to make sure the pregnancy is in the uterus. Good luck!

You could have a tubal reversal or IVF to increase your chances to get pg by probably 99%.  I hope things go well for you.
