Egg yolk question

I'm 35 years old & 31 weeks pregnant. My husband knows how much I love lemon treats so he bought me some lemon gilato for dessert. As I'm enjoying this tasty frozen treat I see in the ingredients that it contains egg yolk which I've been told to stay away from due to the risks to the baby.
Has anyone else had food on accident that contained egg yolk or do you think  a 1/2 cup of this gilato will cause an issue? I know, kind of a dumb question, but this is my first pregnancy & I'm a little paranoid.

In agreement with GeekMom, it is raw egg yolks that are a risk. You can eat as many eggs as you want as long as they are cooked or pasteurized. The gelato's eggs are pasteurized. Otherwise that would take a lot more things off the menu fir us such as, cakes, cookies, mayonnaise,  etc. No harm done, at all.

The egg yolk used in foods like that has been pasteurized to remove the risk of salmonella. When they say stay away from egg yolks they mean don't eat raw cookie dough, don't eat fried eggs that aren't cooked all the way through, because uncooked eggs aren't guaranteed to be free of bacteria. But something like gelato that's been thoroughly processed - it's not a risk. Enjoy it. Sounds lovely!!

Don't think its dumb, as I think about every thing I eat and wonder. Dr can clear up at the next appointment if it is a concern. You already ate it so that seems to be the best option now. It was nice of him to get you a good snack though.

^^Agreed. And if I remember right from what my OB told me, once the placenta is fully developed, it helps filter out the harmful things we may accidentally (or unknowingly intentionally) ingest. It's truly amazing how our bodies work!

Don't stress, your fine. Eating a little accidentally mixed in with other stuff, your baby is OK. Now if you were eating 3 eggs every morning against drs wishes then I would worry about you.
