HCG on the Low Side of Normal @ 18 & 20 DPO

I posted this in another section earlier today but It wasn't in the pregnancy section. I need some advice...My Beta was 290 @18 DPO and 563 @ 20DPO and I got a very light + test at 10DPO. I would think it would be a lot higher.  My doubling time is 50 hours. With my son it was about 1400 around 20 DPO with a doubling time of 30 hours. I lost a baby boy at 18.5 weeks PG to Trisomy 18 in Aug this year (no beta with that baby) so to say the least I am a little nervous. This baby is due Aug 14th 2010...just 7 days before my loss date. I will be 37.

I have seen the "standard charts" on the internet but most of the posts I see have much higher numbers. What do you all think? Am I being paranoid?

Ditto.  It's not necessarily about the numbers, but that they are increasing.  Typically they will double every 48-72 hours until about 1200, then the doubling time really slows down.  And your not paranoid...as happy a time as pregnancy is, it can also be so worrisome.  I wish that wasn't the case.

I agree w/ kristine615. After 2 MCs in 5 months I was pretty nervous as well. My numbers were doubling every 50 or some odd hours also. I kept telling the Dr something was wrong and they kept telling me everything was fine, that I was in the 72 hour mark. I'm now 33W5D w/ a little girl! It all worked out and baby is doing great! Your numbers are just fine. I know how hard it is to relax, I still get paranoid as well. I even asked my Dr for a U/S today just to make sure the cord isn't around her neck. How ever, try try try to relax.

It's my understanding that, as long as the numbers double within 48 - 72 hours, then it is considered normal.  Sounds like you are in the normal range to me :)  Congrats!!!
