How to stop lactating after a D&E

Does anyone know how I can stop lactating after a D&E. I was 19 weeks and am finding the lactating very distressing.  Sudafed was recommended to me but I have been told this is no use.  I am in the UK.  Any advice would be very gratefully received.

The drugs are no longer available in the UK.  I have tried the cabbage leaves but will try again.  Many thanks to both of you for your help.

Hi,

so sorry about your loss.  Try using cabbage leaves in your bra.

I don't t hink there are drugs that are considered safe to use now.  Even bromocriptine may not be considered due to side effects....  Ask your doctor?

I'm so sorry about your baby. I would ask your Dr. I know there was a pill people could take here in the US to dry us up if the mother wasn't going to BF. I dont know what it's called but I know a few of my friends had used it years ago. I don't even know if it's still around but may be worth asking about. Kim
