hi, i had 2( -) ivfs in 2009 and a........ natural pregnancy in 8/2010 . I am 12 weeks pregnant today, 42y/o
You can have perfect embryos and your doctor can be einstein ..still you need help from mother nature..the attachment of the embryo is nature..no doctor can help you with that!...
only relax and eat properly, avoid caffeines ( so i did!)
but the hard work doesnt end there my friend....Once you are pregnant
and the you have to go all these test because you are over 35y/o....
Good luck and baby dust to you!
good luck to you, I really hope it works!
For us, the fitter and healthier we got (simple exercise and healthy eating) the more eggs we got and the better I handled the hormones. ity
We ended up needing ICSI, but with each cycle as we got healthier it seemed we were getting more high quality embryos.
We went from two eggs, no embies in the first cycle to one in the belly and two AA grade Blasts in the freezer in the course of a year!
13 weeks til we meet our little man!
Good wishes to you on this cycle! I just sent you a message. :-)
Thank you for stories! I am going to try and relax. Right now the plan is to use AH only, but that may change once the embryologist sees everything on the ER day. My RE prescribed crinone as prog support. Hopefully that is enough.
Thanks for the good wishes Adgal. For both of us, hopefully this is our month!
Hey girl!!!
You know I have no experience with IVF, but had to chime in and wish you lots of luck!! Maybe we'll both have girls a few days apart this time!! SSBD!!!
Amanda
Forgot to mention:
After the transfer, was on "progesterone in oil" shots 1cc IM to buttocks or thighs daily for 12 weeks, as well as estrogen vivelle patches (2 patches to abdominal wall, change every other day)
Hello -
I'm 29 weeks pregnant after IVF.
Am 43 years old, having my first child. They retrieved 4 embryos, 2 fertilized, 2 were transferred after 3 days. Had assisted hatching. Was disappointed that only 2 fertilized - they kept saying "it only takes one!" They were right, I'm 29 weeks pregnant and have had a very smooth pregnancy.
I also cut out coffee, walk daily, drink plenty of water. I did not do "bed rest" after the transfer, but did take it easy for one day. Have read that acupuncture helps, but there is no one where I live.
Best of luck!
I am 25 weeks pregnant after IVF and don't know if these had a direct impact or not, but the changes I made (only a couple weeks before starting meds) were: eliminating coffee and alcohol from my diet (I was a regular consumer of both) and trading my near daily 4-5 mile run for a 2.6 mile walk. We did do both ICSI and assisted hatching even though we have been diagnosed with "unknown infertility". We figured if we were gonna go for it, we might as well go full force. Best of luck to you!
