I am so sorry for your lost I can imagine the hell you are going through.  I have lost 3 pregnancy before the 22 wk mark and can imagine losing one after 48 days.  I am 40 and went to a genetic screening that must insurance company don't pay for until the 3rd lost.  If you were to paid for the test yourself is about $1,700.  I never heard of a facial down only.  I would talk to your dr. about the different pre-screening you can have before you try again unfortunately I don't think there is a test to pre-check for downs before pregnancy.  I turned out to have a mutation that does not allow my body to metabolis folic acid and can lead to throwing blood cluts in the placenta.  This will help my Dr. follow a different protocol with my next pregnancy.  Good Luck and have faith for the perfevt outcome next time.  Jackie

I too am very sorry for your loss.  I cannot imagine your pain, having your child for 48 days and losing him.  I too am confused about the Downs by facial appearance as I had never heard of that, although I am certainly no expert.  Like Pamela, I believe the best bet for you would be to consult your Dr.  I wish you the best, and again am so very sorry for your loss.  Amanda

Hello and welcome to the forum.  I am very sorry to hear of your loss, I couldn't imagine losing a baby after 48 days.  Have you talked with your doctor about TTC again?  I can't see any problem why you couldn't actively TTC again, unless there are other medical conditions or complications you may have.  I'm not sure what you meant about your baby having down syndrome but only by facial appearance.  Are there different types or severity with DS?  Forgive my ignorance.  I wish you much luck, and hope you will be successful in your attempts to have a baby.  Pam
