When To soon for HPT?

I had my First IUI on 12/28/08 (Trigger Shot 12/26/08).  Today is 9dpoIUI, is it Still to soon to do a HPT?  If so, how long do I need to wait?

Thank you!

With really sensitive tests (FR) I have had a BFP as early as 7 DPO.  I have also had BFN at 10 DPO and been pregnant.  So much depends upon implantation timing, amongst other things.

Penina, may I suggest starting a new thread?  You may find you get more responses.  That being said, I wish I had answers for you..are you seeing an RE?  Lots of luck to you!!!!

my dr. told me to wait until day 16 dpo in order to be accurate.  Of course I was a little impatient...

Not necessarily.  I know first response is sensitive but I would wait a couple days and poas again.  Maybe Thursday.  I know you are sure of your dates b/c of the IUI but the body reacts differently.  It may take a few days to produce enough hormone to detect.  Don't give up yet...

Hey Suzie..I actually did POAS this Morning!  It was First Response and came back NEG!  Guess that may mean my first IUI didn't work!?

I used First response and got a positive at 9 dpo.  It is possible to detect but the chances are slimmer.  See how patient you can be and if you can't, pick up a first response and poas (pee on a stick) as soon as you wake up tomorrow.  My dr. told me to wait until 16 dpo but I wasn't that patient...
