Good for you!! That is wonderful! A couple of questions about Lovenox... how expensive is it to get two shots/day? I know there is no generic, and I don't know if insurance companies will work with people on stuff like that....since the shots would be only for 10months, seems like they would, but you never know! That is good to know about the epidural...I don't know if I could go without it! My OB/GYN doesn't seem to think pushing will be a problem for me, but they did find a small cerebral aneurysm during my angiogram for my stroke, so I worry about that, too. Thanks for your help, I look forward to hearing about your induction and delivery!
It was a very big decision, but I felt that my doc would be there every step of the way and, now I am almost 39wks. and have been doing shots since the very beginning. They switched me to heparin at 37wks b/c it has a shorter life span....I am probably going to be induced so that I just won't take my shot that morning so that I can get an epidural...my doc doesn't want me pushing. I also don't have any residual effects from my stroke and have been doing well for the past 6yrs. My ob/gyn said that I should be fine, but there are no guarantees even if I didn't have my stroke. feel free to write to me and I can update you.
I am 36 and had a massive stroke 2yrs ago (18mos after the birth of my daughter)....most likely caused by birth control pills...luckily, my neurointerventionalist was able to use the MERCI retrieval system and I have made a total recovery, I was only in the hospital 6 days! ANyway, now I have to take Plavix, and I'm considering getting pregnant again. It is scary b/c none of my doctors want to tell me "yes" or "no", they say it's up to me!! I don't want to take 2 Lovenox shots/day for 10months, but there's no studies about Plavix and pregnancy. Also, I hear epidurals are dangerous w/ anticoagulation. Anybody have any experience with all this stuff??
