I'm also 37 and we're having our first. I have acid reflux and usually take prilosec  but my doctor changed me to ranitidine. Tums also helps. Dr. said NO Pepto Bismol.  How far along is your wife?

I went through a point in the begining of my pregnancy where even water gave me heartburn, i found tums with calcium helped alot. I took them everywhere with me!

Hello, welcome to the forum!  I posted a link below that will be very informative for you.  I think for the most part, have her avoid the obvious, spicy foods, alcohol, acidic fruits, etc.

I would think her dr would have suggested taking gaviscon, mylanta or another antacid daily, or whenever symptoms provoke.
