I know - old posting - been busy - sorry - here's our story
I had just gone through a divorce when I met Hubby online in a history chat room - we started talking online - went from online to on the phone - he invited me out in August to visit and it went wonderful - I drove to NJ at Christmas to see him and meet his family - funny story there for another time - I moved to Nevada at the end of January - we lived together for a year before we got married - we'll be married six years this fall and we are EAGERLY anticipating our first child - Abby Rose - in eleven days (although she doesn't seem to be in a hurry) Our due date is Feb 27th - but everyone is beating us to the cradle - she's going to have some great online friends with Noah, and Saraya and Brayden - lol - and some wonderful online aunties!!!!

ooh yeah i felt obligated to go on a date with the other guy so before DH and I celebrated our birthday I went out with the other yahoo but was soooo mean since I knew DH was the one. I wouldnt even let him walk me to the door after dinner....dh's friend was there with my sis LOL I would have been busted...DH always reminds me I went out on a date with someone after I met him :O) HEHEHE I remind him I had 2 other guys callin me at the time and blew them off for him :O) LOVE LOVE LOVE

I had just seperated from my ex dh (we had been together for 12 years) and my younger sister and I had an apt across from Chili's. We went there ALL the time for margarita's...heck sometimes i went by myself LOL (I still need you RENO)....anyway
A freind HAD someone she wanted me to meet she swore we were ment to be together so we all met up for St patty's day..he was ok and I was depressed so i decided I would go on a date with him. Well Friday came and he called to say he had a few drinks at Happy hour and didnt want to drive, disappointed I went home got in my pj's and started to sulk....I'm gonna be alone forever..who would want to be with a 30 yr old divorcee. My sis asked me to go to Chili's but I declined...a bit later I got dressed and told her lets go.
We sat there and drank our pain away and sitting next to us was a table wit 2 cuties. Our waitress su@ked and my drink was EMPTY so I stuck abunch of straws together and pretended to drink frokm other peoples drinks...I SWEAR I DONT HAVE A PROBLEM LOL... and I kept staring at these guys food so the other guy offered up his queso and I galdly excepted. They invited us over and my sis graciously said NO but i had already slid my chair over LOL. DH was on the phone talking to his girlfriends friend who was trying to hook up with him...YUCK and his friend told me hew was recently divorced from this chic he had been with for 12 years...so I yelled "switch" and my sis and I changed seats. The girlfriends freind heard girls in the background and when DH wouldnt meet her she called the girl he was dating and told her he was with GIRLS...psycho you were just trying to hook up with him....needless to say she called him and he and his friend egged me on (didnt take much with all the margaritas I had) to radio with her (I didnt know how to use nextel radio) I told her he was with me now and dont call him again. She eventually called the resturant and I answered for him...she was so pi@@ed. we went to lunch a few days later and after we hit it off he invited me to his house for "our birthday dinner" i didnt make it home that night and havent left since LOL

OMG I can't believe all the love on the internet. That is just fantastic, I really enjoyed each and every one of your stories. My DH was my flight instructor when I was taking flying lessons....boy did we have a fun time getting to know eachother :) I always thought I was going to get my pilots license and take a guy flying to impress him...HUH, instead, I married one!! I am a real sucker for a man in uniform!! Going to run to my computer now and check out the HUNKS, I don't know how to open them on this laptop (I'm a little slow)
Well, there is love in the forum tonight isn't there!! -- and Carolyn.. your's made me cry! My mother's name was Carolyn Ann and she couldn't make it to mine and DH's wedding New Years Eve '06 because she was sick. Then I was scheduled to have my tubal reversal surgery and she wanted to go with me. She didn't make it because she passed away Feb 28, 2007. My surgery was March 15th!
Anyways... DH and I met online also, but the ironic thing was that when we actually did meet we had NO IDEA who each other was because it was by freak chance that we met when we did!! He had to have a hernia surgery and was off work for a few weeks healing and made a Yahoo account and was looking for people in Athens (where I live) to find some resources to different businesses and such down here so he could look for some land. He had came here when he was in high school for a baseball tournament and absolutely loved it and told his father at 17 years old that he was going to get older, save some money and buy some land in Athens. They are from Northern Ohio. Athens is South. So after the surgery, he made this account and looked for people located in *Athens* and found me. I was not into talking to men online because some can be real idiots! This guy was really nice so I gave him the information he was looking for and that was about it. Thought I would never hear or see this man again. Then a month later I go to lunch with a friend of mine at a restaurant where another friend of ours worked. We were in there and I see this guy eating his lunch and I remarked to my two friends (who happen to be both gay) how good lookin this guy was. The one who worked there joked and said well good luck, I can't even get his number, and he's been coming in here for a couple weeks now. My friend is really pretty for being a guy! If that doesn't sound too crazy. Anyways.. This guy comes up to pay for his lunch and asks if we know if there are any Indian Restaurants in Athens. I tell him where the only one I know of is and how to get there and he said he would have to check it out. Then another month or so goes by and I'm at the Indian Restaurant with some people from work and HE walks in. I say hi and and say something like " I see you found the place". He says yeah and would like to thank me by buying me dinner sometime if I wasn't taken and it was alright with me. Which I wasn't. So we made plans for a week later when he came down to "start clearing off the land that he had bought!!" I was totally shocked when I heard him say land that he bought. Then I asked him where he was from and when he told me I immediately asked him if he just recently had hernia surgery. And when he said yeah he knew how I knew all about him!!! It was so funny!!!!!
But I do have to add, I did not like him at first. I felt like he was so snotty and came from a small family and I come from a big family, A HUGE FAMILY, and I just felt like we were from different sides of the tracks! He wanted kids, I had 2 already and had my tubes tied. He didn't want his wife to work, I could not be restrained in that way. A bunch of things! I just felt like we were total opposites! I actually tried to convince him that some woman where he lived before he bought the land would be good for him. She had come down a couple times to help him on the land. They seemed to be more compatible then him and I any day. Well as time went by we hung out more, I actually helped him build a garage and start building his house four his "someday family". This all started 4 years ago. After being his friend for a couple years and just hanging out with him when he would come down to do some more work on his land, we became closer and closer. Then I had to have emergency surgery and he took me, stayed at the hospital, and let me stay at his house to recover for a few days and then I knew! No One would have done all that and been there for my every whim for nothing. He told me while driving me home from the surgery that he loved me! I knew I loved him too! I think I was just trying to deny it!! The rest is history!!

Wow, ladies. Your stories give a single lady lots of hope. I've tried match.com, and e-harmony. No luck yet. I haven't tried the Seattle airport, Peru or Hawaii yet! But some of these chance meetings just really make me think when it's meant to be, it just happens. There is no forcing or stopping it. Well, sorry I don't have a romance story to share, but really enjoyed reading yours!!
Dh and I met at work. He was a dispatcher and I was a police officer. He was married, I was single. His wife left him, we hung out, fell in love. I knew he was the one early. But 4 days before we were married, I KNEW for sure because of this.
My mother was diagnosed with cancer the same time he had to leave to go to the police academy for 16 weeks (he came home on the weekends). During that time we were engaged, planned the wedding, and my mother was receiving treatment. He was scheduled to graduate on 2/11/2000 (friday), and we planned our wedding on the 12th. The weekend before (6th), my mother died, he was with me but had to go back to training and could not be there for the visitation or funeral. I knew he couldn't and was okay with it (but secretly wanted and needed him there). Her visitation was on Tuesday evening. I was at the front of the funeral home with my back to the door speaking with another dispatcher and other friends. They were asking me if my dh could be there, and I told them he couldn't. Just minutes later one of our friends said "Well, he did make it." Of course, I was ready to smack him because I thought he was joking. I turned around and there he was, in his training uniform, walking toward me....like something out of a movie. I was so moved, and the entire place got really quiet as they watched me wrap my arms around the most wonderful man in the world. He had somehow gotten permission to come back home, just until after the funeral to be with me when I needed him most. As I stood there completely in love and holding on to him and hope, my sister mouthed to me the words "That's Love." We were married 4 days later, me wearing the wedding dress my mother had bought me even before we were engaged (she LOVED him) . And my father walked me down the isle proudly.

True story. Dh and I met on match.com and had our first date in Hawaii on Valentine's weekend. I lived in Oklahom and he lived in NYC. I was going to Hawaii for work and asked him if he wanted to meet me there. It was neutral territory so it seemed like it was a good idea and it turned out to be a great idea. It being valentine's weekend was just a coincidence.

I met my dh (actually we're not married..it's just easier to say dh! lol ) at work. I'm a bartender in a nightclub and he's the bouncer. We'd been working together for like 2 years but I was married to someone else (mistake) and he had a girlfriend. We were just friends for a long time. Seeing each other only at work..never really entered my mind that I would one day be with him..but of course I thought he was HOT! LOL Well, we fell in love. We were great friends and then we just fell in love without neither of us knowing what the hell was going on! He always used to walk me to my car after work and one saturday night, after he kissed me goodnight on the cheeks like he always did..he grabbed me with his big arms and pushed me into him and he gave me a sweet lil' kiss on the lips. We both were in shock and I just jumped in my car without even looking at him! My heart was racing, I had been dreaming about him doing that for months.
So, went back to my place..thought about him the whole week. That was it, I was in love. My poor dh at the time was wondering what the hell was wrong with me because I was so distant.. I had to wait until the next Thursday to see him at work again. And before my shift, we were both sitting at the bar with other coworkers..he he whispered in my ear ''I thought about that little kiss all week long''..my heart melted..I was sooooo happy he obsessed over it too!! That night it began. We were hiding anywhere we could to just jump on each other and kiss..touch..ahhhh..it was great! We hid our love for 2 months before we left our other relationships..but we both did and we've been crazy in love ever since. He's the hottest guy on earth and I can't believe he's with me. Hahha We are sooo lucky. :)

DH and I met in an AOL chatroom 9 years ago. I had just divorced my high school sweetheart, was a single mom and definitely was NOT looking for a relationship! I was just looking for friends and people to chat with. It was not even a romance chatroom! I think it was Dallas Chat or something like that! Anyhow, we chatted and hit it off and talked for about a month. We finally decided to meet and I thought...WOW! He's a cutie. But I was scared and we didnt talk for over 2 weeks after we met because I wouldn't return his calls. He finally caught me off guard and I agreed to meet him again........and he hasn't ever left me or my remote control alone ever since! =) We have the same exact birthdays and have been married for 8 years!

I met my DH at the Airport in Seattle Washington due to mistaken identity. I was meeting another man I met online at the airport. I was waiting by the luggage area and I had only seen faint pictures of the other guy online, so when I went up to the man I thought was the man I was to meet and gave him a hug and Kiss on the cheek, my DH said who are you? I didn't realize I was being stood up by the other guy. My DH was pleasantly surprised and I was embarrassed as hell. Not to mention everyone getting their luggage seen me kiss a stranger. So my DH played it off as if he knew me. We started talking for an hour at the airport and he found out his ride stood him up. So I figured what the hell, I just moved to Washington State and don't know anyone and he is active duty military I will give a ride to the base and that will be it. Well, we ended up spending the day and night together and I wasn’t expecting to hear back from him and two hours after I left his place he called me wanting to know what time I was coming over. This was on Sunday Feb 2 ,2002 we moved in with each other Feb 4, 2002 and have been together every since. Now we live in Plantation, FL and we are TTC!!!!
I have known my husband since he was in kindergarten, and me in second grade , had a big crush on him since 6th grade , he was my brother's best friend I never ever had a boyfriend, but when I was a senior in high school and he was a junior I started to hang out with him and my brothers friends more through out my senior year( I was a skinny geek) that summer my brother went to wrestling camp and said to me if Joe comes around when Im gone I know he likes you , I thought no way he's gonna find me attractive when he was so wanted by so many girls all beautiful, but the next day after my brother left he came over (asking where my brother was even though he knew), and stayed and hung out we where goofing around outside and I fell on a stick and cut my foot , He said come to my house and I'll get you a band-aid I did and on the way home at night we started goofing around again and then we kissed(my first ever at 17yrs old he was 15) I went home and couldnt wipe the damn smile off my face let alone get rid of the butterflies in my stomach. I told my older sister later on and she started jumping up and down (cause she knew how much I liked him), I said jeeze it aint like were getting married he just kissed me , Well we never left each others side since and four years later we where married , two virgins almost 7 kids later 21 years together 16 years married my best friend , other half.
I am from Azerbaijan. Former Soviet Union. But arranged marriages are not common there. I got engaged to him (ex fiance) because I knew him and never loved him, but got engaged when I was new in USA and was lonely.
