How r u? Stumbled on ur post while searching for stories with low amh.....i have the same numbers .2 amh n 13+ fsh. Would love to hear if u had success the natural way. However am already 38 n hence not so hopeful....
Again congrats on your pregnancy, your story has been an inspiration to me. I was wondering if you tried acupuncture while TTC? I am in the process of finding another RE, saw mine today this is my 2nd time seeing him & I really don't get any good vibes from him. I am also trying to put some type of plan into action until I find a RE, the one I have now basically feels that my chances are 1 in 250 to have success with IVF. When I told him that was a hell of a lot better than the lottery he still gave me a doom & gloom story.
So I have to move on & try with someone else. If things don't work for me, I at least want to go down swinging. I can't just give up because the RE has no hope.
Thanks BabyJazz - that's just the kind of story I need to hear. I already took very good care of myself but have cut out caffeine and am taking wheatgrass shots and am seeing an accupuncturist. There is so much out there on FSH which does fluctuate. But it's harder to find success stories with those who have AMH as low as we do. It helps a lot to hear it is possible. We will keep trying the natural way for while.
Thanks!
I'm 38 years old, hadn't been TTC prior to my test, but had an FSH of 17 and an AMH of .2. I was pretty much told to go the donor route as well. Leas than a month later, I was pregnant naturally. Today, I am 25w6d.
In TTC, have you tracked temps, used ovulation predictor kits, tracked your cervical mucus, etc...?
I've heard there is nothing you do about AMH but you can improve FSH. There is a lot out there about this. Me, I cut back on the vigorous workouts and started doing yoga, I started taking wheatgrass shots (drinks) almost daily, I started seeing a chiropractor who had other patients with infertility, I cut out caffeine and started eating healthier in general. Nothing dramatic though.
I got pregnant on my very first attempt. It happened so fast, I honestly don't know how much any of what I did helped. Maybe I'm the exception. I'm sure there are plenty of moms and moms to be that have this "problem" of high FSH and low AMH, but don't know it.
There are a lot of success stories out there. Keep googling. If you've only been TTC for a few months, you should continue trying before giving up on having a biological child if that's what you really want.
Thanks baby1234. My RE was super pessimistic. He signed me up for IUI right away. I'm not sure I am mentally ready for that although he says there is no time to waste. I have made an appointment for 2nd opinion. thanks for the luck!
Good luck to you with your treatment. Knocking on wood for you.
I was 34 with a fsh of 13. My RE stressed that age trumps fsh. My two and a half year old twins in the next room can attest for that! In our case, we were aggressive with treatments. We did three IUIs and then moved on to IVF. I felt like time was of the essence at that point. But, I do have to say that I've gone back to my clinic recently, and I am about to start another IVF this week at 38 years old. My fsh has never been higher than that 13 the first two times they tested me. (knock, knock on wood)
You are young so you are still in the game! I'd seek another opinion if at all possible. The RE you are with now seems very pessimistic in my opinion.
Good luck!
Thanks Joanne! My RE tells me my chronological age doesn't really matter in my case as I have little to no eggs left. Once he told me I as in perimenopause I pretty much blanked out. Congrats on your baby! Always good to hear the positive!
best,
Jen
I think there are a few ladies on here that have had higher fsh's than that and conceived, i'm sure they'll respond in a bit. I don't know about amh numbers.
I'm 40 and have an almost eight month old, I have to say I think you're relatively young :) Anyway I'm sure that your doctor knows more than I about your medical condition but I think that I wouldn't be quite in panic mode yet if you're 35, I'd also probably explore alternative methods and give myself at least six months to conceive naturally. There are a few ladies on here that have done the egg donor route as well so I'm sure they'll chime in.
Good Luck,
Joanne
