mc due to chromosome abnormality

Hi.  I am over 35 and have had 2 mc's in 4 months :(  My MD tested the tissue from the 2nd mc and I just found out that the mc was due to a chromosomal abnormality with # 8.  I'm not sure what this means.  Does anyone else have a similar story?  She is recommending that my husband and I have some blood testing done and then maybe speak with a genetic councelor depending on the results.  We have 3 healthy children and never had any problems prior until we started to try for # 4.  

Just looking for some insight.  Really want to try again but am afraid of another loss.

I would add that your chance of going on to have another normal pregnancy is very high!  You are young, and you have had 3 normal pregnancies with DH, right?  Most OBs dont recommend much further testing until you have 3 miscarriages in a row (as 2 miscarriages is not too uncommon -- not to sound calloused, as I totally understand the grief because I had miscarriages in July and September this year), or unless you fit into other high risk categories.  If you talk with a genetic councelor, you will probably be very reassured. I'm so sorry for your loss.  I think it means that the fetus had a "Trisomy 8" abnormality, which means there was an abnormality with the 8th chromosome.  You might try googling for information about trisomies in general and "Trisomy 8" in particular for more information.
