Right side can be appendicitis. They need to check this again.
I had chronic appendicitis with my daughter.. paid started just before I conceived. Kept getting worse and worse and no one was believing me except my obe, who kept sending me to gastro doctors who told me there was nothing wrong and to come back after the baby was born (in 6 months). Finally the pain was so bad my obe admitted me to the hospital. The doctors were arguing for 3 days about whether or not to do surgery or whether to discharge me home to see what happened. I was in the hospital bed saying the pain was so bad I wasn't going anywhere. My obe also insisted they do surgery, saying in pregnant patients if in doubt they should operate. Finally they did surgery and it was appendicitis! My obe apologised to me that I had to suffer so long. Fortunately my baby was ok.
Now, your case may not be appendicitis, but the pain needs to be properly considered and closely monitored. Are you having fever? If so this is an alarm signal! Do follow up with your doctor and be persistent.
Im 38w pregnant having sharp pains in left side which I suspect is due to my endometriosis. I havent had any problems from this during the whole pregancy however I know that your progesterone levels drop at late stage of pregnancy and Estrogen increases and this can cause cramping and pains...just like before a regular menstrual cycle
...your body may well be gearing up for labour, im assuming thats whats happening to myslef right now.
Just to add be aware of trapped wind and constipation as these too cause horrible pains usually on 1 side - the doc gave me Lactulose to use for this which did help get the trapped wind moving.

If this has been going on for 5 days straight again, please contact your Dr. again. I know they haven't found anything in previous bouts, but I would still give him/her a call again.
It does sound like you may have a problem with a nerve there. We get so many aches, pains, pulls and tugs during pregnancy, but rarely are they bad enough to keep you bedridden. Chances are it's nothing to harm you or the baby, and just very unpleasant, but I would still keep telling them. I wonder too if you are not just having a bad time of round ligament pain. It's usually just uncomfortable, but I have heard of some women having a really rough time with it. It is most commonly felt on the right side as well.
I'm sorry your having a tough time, and hope this goes away soon. But do please keep notifying your Dr. Don't feel like a pest, it's always best to be safe. Take care.
Have you had your appendix checked?? Thats where its located and if it ruptures it can be fatal!!
