secondhand smoke-opinions

DH and I had been invited to a dear friend's 40th birthday party this weekend. He lives 3 hours from us, and we would be staying at his house. The problem is, the "party" will take place at a martini bar and a bowling alley.  Now I obviously won't be drinking or bowling, but those 2 places sound like they will be smoke-filled.  And I won't be able to just leave and go home if I find they are too smokey.  I'm still in early pregnancy (8 weeks 3 days). Do I have a reason to be concerned, or am I just being overly-cautious?  thanks

I'm no dr, but I think if you can stand the smoke it will be alright.  I can't stand smoke, but I would probably go for the good time and being with family.

I don't think I could attend as the smoke would make me really nauseous to the point of puking.  I bet if you do attend, you'll be spending a lot of time outside so you can get a good breath in.  There most likely won't be any permanent damage to your baby but I think the smoke will make you sick.
