siatic nerve pain..oooowwweeee!!!!

Hey ladies!
Im 30weeks today and just over the past couple day have started having some pain that I assume is being caused by pressure/weight of the uterus on the siatic nerve.
OOOOOH does it smart....its like a gripping deep tissue/muscle pain in the left side buttock. This kid is literally a "PIA" !! hehe...j/k.
Seriously though...I know its quite common in the 3rd tri,. My next Dr. appointment is this Friday and I plan to mention it but I was just wondering if any of you have had this and what you did for relief?  Have any of you ever had a pre-natal massage or seen a chiroproactor for it...and did it help?

Thanks!

I just started having bad pain in my upper thigh region.  This morning I think i have figured out the cause.  I think it is from all the sleeping and laying on my side.  When I am laying on my left side, I don't put the pillows between my knees, so my right leg is alway pointed or leaning downward. I don't know if this is the same problem you are having, but I thought it might help.

good luck to you.

I think thats whats going on w/ me too....except right side.  Last night i was almost in tears walking.  It starts at my lower back and goes down to my leg.  Not fun!  I'm not sure what to do about it either aside from seeing a chiro or Dr.

I had painful sciatica with my first pregnancy and saw both a chiropractor and a prenatal massage therapist. Both were a great help and relief. The chiropractor seemed to help a bit more with the sciatica, but I loved going to the prenatal massage appointments for relaxation. That reminds me, I am overdue for another prenatal massage!  Good luck.
