what caused my red blood then brown spotting. scan shows baby good at 10wks 4 days

Hi Guys,

I woke up Friday am with severe lower backache and then had red blood then turned brown! I was convinced I had missed carried as today I pssed a brown clot and still spotting brown discharge. Had an emergency scan showed the baby doing well can't see any reason for bleeding????

I am really confused as the sonographer feels I have nothing to worry about said I may need progesterone?? then I have read others who have experienced similar and miscarried after??/ I dare not feel relieved. I read brown blood ok red not, it was red then brown.

Has anyone experienced similar???? I am having anothet scan Tuesday at thehospital had a private one today. I have got some natural progesterone cream at home am tempted to try the guy siad today see how the bleeding goes. Tha other starnge thing is up till friday I couldnt stand hardly nay tastes smells felt constanly sick, most my symptoms have subsided, my breasts did KILL now they don't hurt!!! all dosent make sence. He said the sack in perfect condition and if any probs would have seen erosian he said my cervix looks shut so why the bleeding!! god this is so stressful forgot what sleep feels like!!! help !!!

I am currently 6 weeks and 5 days I mc lays year and am worried because for the last two weeks I have had brown discharge. Last Tuesday it was red then brown again. Went for early scan they said because I was only 6 weeks 3 days too early to tell. Midwife said everything looks as it should but then again last night I passed more red blood and today brown. I am so worried I now have to wait 2 weeks for my next scan!

I spotted bright red on and off from week 5 to week 11, I even had clotting one day. Ultrasounds couldn't locate a cause. My OB said spotting is fairly common in early pregnancy. My baby was fine, 6 months old now. :) Good Luck!

I had red blood bleeding at 10weeks and dr told me it was a m/c but turned out to be fine. They seem to think it was a burst cyst so it could very well be that.  If baby is fine and you have a heartbeat, don't stress.  I ended up having a beautiful little girl!!. Take care

You can have bleeding and your cervix still be closed. I wouldn't try any progesterone cream without talking to your doctor first.

You may have the same issue I am having...a low lying placenta. I had red spotting then brown with clots. Saw my OB who did a full exam, including ultrasound and my baby is fine, but placenta sitting really low so I am on complete pelvic rest. Pretty much I can't do anything that would increase pressure down there (like anything that would increase menstrual flow during my period...such as lifting, vigorous exercise, etc)

So...put yourself on complete pelvic rest and get in to see your OB ASAP
