25 lbs too big for a 5 month old?

ok so i was just wondering if 25 lbs was too big for a 5 month old baby. my best friends baby was 5lbs 13oz when born now he is 5 months old and weighs 25 lbs, i didn't think it was too bad although he does look a lil bit older but he's not a real chunky baby or anything and yesterday when we were shopping we had some random guy ask how old he was and how much he weighed and he made a remark telling her that he looked like he was 10 months old and etc is that too big for a 5 month old baby. just curious.

I have know idea???
I read somewhere that your baby at that age is suppost to gain a pound a month. But every baby is different as long as the baby is healthy and doing fine. So I'm guess by the time my baby is 5 months he'll be around 14 or 15 pounds. My baby is only a month old right now and he is 11 pounds.

at 6 months my lil cousing was 21 lbs and not she is almost a year and is like 26 lbs.  yes she is a lil chubby but the doctor has always said, cause i go to all the appointments, that she seems perfectly healthy and we might have to watch what she intakes in the future but as of right now, she is fine and will porbably lose it once she starts running around,  so i would sya to your friend not to worry and when her sons starts crawling, he will probably lose some weight.

My 2 yr old weighs 28 pounds. But like Joy said if the doc isn't considering him obese, and he doesnt look obese and is just big, then I think he is fine. My sisters baby weighed 10 pounds 2 ounces and he is 4 months old weighing 22 pounds, but doesn't look fat, he is just a big baby.

Most toddlers weigh that much, but if he's healthy and doesn't look obese I wouldn't worry about it. All children grow at their own rates!

Wow, my almost 2 year old little girl is barely 25 lbs. and she's very tall and healthy.  I guess boys just grow A LOT bigger or faster then girls.

yup, no worries.  I'd maybe be worried if he was like really super chunky and not tall, you know what i mean?

when i had found out how big my son was at that time, the doctor laughed and said to me that boys are like that.  AHAHA  I was sort of freaking out, but yeah totaly in the norm.  And my son was wear 18 month old clothes at that time lol

he is over 3 1/2 feet tall now, and wear 3t and 4t it's crazy!

My son was 5 weeks early, 5lbs 12 oz...And at 5 months he was the same 25 lbs!  Not fat, just tall and healthy!  He is now 18 months old and weighs 36 lbs.  It's not too big.  Boys will tend to get bigger faster than little girls.  They will gain weight, and then grow in height.  And so forth.
