34 1/2 weeks pregnant and woke up very wet

Hello I am 34 weeks pregnant with my 4th child and I woke up very wet thismorning, I have been wearing pads for the past few weeks and this went through my panty liner and compleatly wet my underwear. (I did have a coughing fit last night also)
I have never had my warters break spontaniously with any of my other labours alsways needed the dr to break them while I was in labour so I am unsure if this is my water breaking or just that I may have peed myself.lol
My baby is still high up wich is not a supprise as they all stayed there till labour but i am feeling a little pressure when i walk around. I am not feeling like I am going into labour and the baby is still moving around in there so maybe I have nothing to worry about :)
Guess I just wanted to get some advice before calling the hospital in case I dont have to and then i dont look silly :)
Thanks in advance

the ob explained to me at the hosp that i may leak all the time and i may only leak at certain times depending on the babys position...the baby will continue to urinate which will produce aniotic fluid and my body will continue to produce it as well...the babys head could act as a cork and some leakage may be heavier than other times

basically i woke up at 1am and had an incredible urge to pee...the bed was already slightly wet so i thought it just took too long to wake up...i went to the bathroom and when i wiped there was some pink on the toilet paper...i had a doc appt at 830am so i was going to wait until then since i didnt have any cramping...i changed my clothes and went and feel back asleep on the couch...woke up 3 hours later, wet again...i knew i had to go the hospital and get checked out...i was joking with the doc that the baby was laying on my bladder and i drank too much water but that wasnt my case at all...the tests for amniotic fluid came back positive and it was clear i was leaking fluid

so they sent me to labor and delivery and hooked me up with magnesium sulftate to help the babys nueral system and stop any contractions...honestly i was having very mild ones that i didnt even feel but they were registering...weird...they also started me on an iv, antiotics and gave a steriod shot for my babys lung to help mature..it really was scary and a miserable day

here i am 2 days later...admitted until i deliver now....doc says baby is better off in my belly until im 34 weeks to give her time to grow a bit more and more time to mature...but at 34 weeks the risk reverses and its time to get her out...therefore i am scheduled to be induced 8/18 which is exactly when im going to be 34 weeks

honestly....please dont feel silly just go get checked...you dont have to have cramps or pelvic pressure...i felt completely fine...just thought i peed myself and the baby was laying on my bladder...boy was i wrong and im so thankful that i came to the hospital and they found it when they did

infection is very serious and can be fatal to mom and baby....better to be safe than sorry

best of luck to you

Hi Waitn, Im sorry to hear you are stuck in hospital :(
Can you tell me a little more about what happened in your case plz, Did you have any other symptoms? did you continue to leak alot or just a little? At this stage I have very little on my pad so am thinking that I may have just had an accident last night but I am feeling the baby moving alot harder (almost feels like there is no water there and thats why i am able to feel pain when she kicks or chnges position. I am also having slight cramping nothing to write home about but just not my normal morning routine with bub is all.

Thanks to everyone for your input I am going to call the hospital and see what they have to say. Will keep you posted :)

honestly...dont want to scare you but i was 31.6 weeks preg and the exact same thing happened to me...turns out im leaking fluid and now in the hospital until im 34 weeks...my doc said once you are 34 weeks if it happens they will induce because your chance of infection is so great

please gooooo get checked out immediately...i live by its better to be safe than sorry and here i lay in a hospital bed waiting and hoping my baby hangs out until im 34 weeks when i will be induced

your water breaking does not have to be constant...i woke up wet once and thought nothing of it....then it happened again and i knew something was wrong...i posted a long post about my story and what has been happening....

please go get checked!!!!

Are you still leaking anything? I believe when your water breaks it comes as a constant flow, though might not be heavy. You won't look silly going up there to get looked at. They've seen it all, and during pregnancy it's better to be safe than sorry. If it was your water, you would need to delivery before infection set in.

I think you should indeed get checked at a hospital!!!!! SERIOUSLY~!!!! you wont look dumb at all. What if indeed your water is broken, which is possible. It can happen to anyone.
