I have to say, this is an incredible relief. I just got a call form my fertility clinic as well. No Downs, but an elevated AFP level which could suggest an NTD. I have spent the past 20 minutes trying not to have a complete breakdown at my office:) Thanks for posting. I will just hold tight until my OBGYN calls with an appointment for an anatomy scan. Praying for the best...:)
Thanks so much ladies, after reading some more I realized alot of people have gone thru this and had perfectly healthy babies. I would have opted out of the screening but my husband said he would feel better to have them done, which is fine with me, we're a team :)
I agree. False positives are common. I wouldn't worry too much. Good luck
I actually elected not to have these tests done...both of my sisters received false positives in at least one of their pregnancies. I did not want the stress of worring for nothing. My sono looked good and that's how I left it. My son is a very healthy little boy! Good luck!
