Animals sensing things

Ok so i have a silly question ladies. I have a male shitzu who is almost 6 years old and all day he's been up my butt. He's following me around the house every where and every time i sit down he is on my lap with his head on my belly. He doesn't normally do this so my question is, do you ladies think that animals can sense when something.g is going to happen, like labor? Would love to hear Amy stories. Thanks ladies.

I have 2 dogs, female mongrel and male german shepherd. While neither of them let me know i was pregnant (was 19w before i found out) jake (male) has become very protective of me and roo (female) follows me round and makes sure im ok. Neither like touching my stomach tho, i think the baby moving freaks them out lol

my cat has been acting strange too. hes about a year and a half old and he was.spayed VERY early in my pregnancy to curb his ferosious attitude. He's not normally a "cuddle kitty" and generally he stays away from our bed but my fiance leaves for work.at  6am and within 10 min of him leaving my cat is laying curled up on the bed next to me, follows me around the house regardless of what im doin and even if im getton a shower he'll sit on the toilet seat till I get out. its like hes watching out for me.while my man isnt home.

Just use gloves to change the litter and wash your hands afterwards I've had a cat since I was born and me and my baby are healthy MYTH: Cats will suck the air from infant’s mouths, killing them. First of all, it’s not physically possible, given how small a cat’s mouth is compared to an infant’s. Cats often like cuddling with babies, just as they would a hot water bottle or a heated cat bed. Their motives are entirely self-serving.

MYTH: If a woman becomes pregnant, she should get rid of her cat. Although cats can be infected with toxoplasmosis which can cause problems to unborn babies, it can be controlled simply by avoiding contact with the litter box.

Cats are safe to have while pregnant and around babies

My friends dog would sleep by her feet before and through her pregnancy. But the night before she went into labor, the dog slept between her legs with her head by the belly. It could just be your relationship with your pet, how close you are.

For you xat lovers out there just to let you know. They aren't the best for babies... they can suffercate the baby cause the milk on their faces and the litter is toxic to you and baby while pregnant

I also think they can tell. We have 3 dogs, to large ones who love to jump on you but since I have been pregnant they don't jump or even try to jump on me. Then my poodle who loves everyone ad would never bark at anyone has taken to being protective of me and anyone who comes near me he barks and growls and try's to keep them away...he thinks he is a big bad guard dog at only 6 lbs..LOL

I know my dog could I had my best friend living with me and she was pregnant my dog went in to her room and kept waking her up and pushing her to our front door she thought my dog wanted to go outside so she went back to bed but when we got up 4 hours later I had to take her to the emergency room and found out the baby's foot was in the birth canal. Now I have a different dog who kept poking his nose to my tummy and wouldn't leave me alone and that's how I knee to take a pregnancy test and it was positive. Also we knew from the time I was 8weeks that my little one was going to be a girl cause my mothers dog kept nipping and biting me she had done the same to my sister when she was pregnant with her little girl and sure enough I found out recently that its a girl. So I think they can since things like labor and pregnancy

When i was pregnant w my first, my horse used to rub her nose n face all over my belly and followed me around when i would be in the pasture or doing chores.  My daughter is 7 now and obsessed w horses n does a great job w her own pony. My second child just loves horses from a distance but is definitely scared lol. Probably a coincidence but still ironic

I totally think animals can sense these kinds of things. I have two dogs and ever since I've been pregnant they lay their heads on my stomach. They never used to do that before. My sister was living with me for a while when she was pregnant and they did the same thing for her.

I think they can. My cat never leavese alone. She is clingy but normally with my partner. I think cats and dogs can tell when something's happening weather it's movement or labour :-)

They might be able to. The opposite happened with my cat. When she went into labor she came and got me and kept walking from her bed to me until i came and sat by her. After i sat there she lied down and had 4 babies. Maybe they can sense your hormones, or smell them.

Lol. I agree. It's cute that he wants to lay with me but makes things a little more difficult. Thank you for answering.

I don't know if they know you're pregnant but you do put off a lot of extra body heat that animals enjoy. My kitties never want to lay on me except when I'm pregnant which can be uncomfortable and hard to watch tv with a big belly and a large cat on top as well.
