It's common for many women to go through. The realization that you're going to have this tiny person who depends on your for everything is very daunting and can hit hard. I'm 35 weeks and the realization for me personally is getting stronger the further along I get. Keep offering support. Make sure she knows she's not alone in this. It's possible that's how she feels. Help her to not make any rash decisons. She might go back and forth a lot, and will need you to remain solid so she doesn't stray from what she really wants.
Shelley is over in Europe at the moment and I think struggling alittle with her mum travelling while I'm not around. I get emails saying it doesn't feel real that she is pregnant and doesn't think she is ready to be a mum. I offer as much positive support to her, but is this hormones playing tricks with her? Should I be worried?
Thankyou :)
The worst thing is she gets light cramping and alittle old blood with it sometimes. Why is this and is it quite common?
Thankyou for all your hopeful advice:)
I wouldn't call it high...but it is still possible to miscarry. Once you're out of the first trimester your chances drop much, much lower.
Thankyou Annie,
Is there still a high chance of the pregnancy failing once the heartbeat is detected?
It doesn't sound bad. The heart doesn't even start to beat until about 5 weeks 1 day, and it does start rather slowly. It should be faster quite soon.
