Baby Aidyn has arrived!
Aidyn Eli arrived on 12/21/2012. Not only was he born on the "apocalypse", it was my edd for my daughter, the first day of winter, and would have been my great grandpa's 104th birthday.
He was born at 11:08pm after a 24 hour labor in which I narrowly avoided a cesarean. I pushed for four minutes and he was out.
He was only 36w1d and he's in the nicu because his lungs may or may not be mature as he is considered preterm. He aspirated on fluids coming out and now has pneumonia and difficulty breathing. He's off oxygen and currently doing ok with a cpap, IV in his head, and hooked to so many wires.
Luckily he's in good hands and was a bigger baby. He weighed 6lbs 12oz. He most likely will be spending Christmas in the nicu and staying here for two weeks, but its touch and go.
Keep Aidyn in mind as he could use some prayers and love this Christmas. And I have only gotten to hold my son twice and he's a day old.

I am really praying for u hun as i too had my lil man early I wasn't due until 1-12-13 had him 12-20-12 and he only weighed 5lb 8oz but god is good he only had one prob which was blood sugar was low he's home we were discharged 2 days after birth and he's fine so prayers do work keeping u both in prayer
I really hope little one comes home soon. My little girl was born 12-12 at 35 weeks I wasn't due until 1-15 so I know the scare. Thank heaven's she was 7lb 3oz and was healthy. Still praying for the little one.

Glad he is doing better, almost 3 years ago I had my daughter at 33weeks and she was in the NICU for nearly2 months, I knowits hard!
It's great that they're putting your colostrum on his paci, that would comfort me a little bit. I'm so sorry you're going through this, but he sounds like he's recovering fast :)
Last update I had an hour ago he had weaned successfully on the oxygen. He was needing full oxygen but is now needing minimal. He did need the nasal cannula, but he is still breathing very fast so it's worrisome. But his vitals were looking great.
I've been manually expressing and pumping every two hours to try to stimulate and get a milk supply for him. I got three drops of colostrum this last pump. So hopefully it means my milk is trying to come in. My breasts are much fuller looking and warm to touch and kind of sore.really hoping my milk comes soon so I can get a head start for him. Breast is best, especially for nicu babies. He isn't allowed to have formula or breast milk right now anyways, but they are putting my colostrum on his paci and letting him have it.

Praying for a quick recovery for yu two! Congrats he wasn't as small as we thought he would be:)
His left lung is collapsed. So we're praying he stays stable and doesn't need a chest tube. :(
My prayers go out to the new little guy. God will give him the strength he needs to get out of that nicu soon!! Don't lose hope and stay positive! Everything will turn out fine! You wait and see!!!
Congrats to you. Im sorry baby Aidyn is having difficulties he is in my prayers i know the lord will make him strong n healthy for u mama.
