Biological clock question, that comes with a slightly funny story, in my opinion..lol

My husband just asked me a funny question.  Well to me it's funny.

Before I get to the question, I am going to tell you about 2005.  Okay in 2004 When my sister turned 18, the day of she moved out.  (You'll need to know that for this to make sense later) So 2005, I believe I turned 21 this years.  Yup that adds up.  So it was sort of eventful.  The day after my birthday which happens to be my friends birthday who is one year older, decided to do a joint celebration, so we went out and needless to say by the end of the night, well 3 am....LOL  A sober driver with a car full of drunk people and 2 birthday people my husband got arrested!  Long story short for this it was a horrible night!  Then on going through the months, get to June 25, 2005, and my brother was getting married in Lake Tahoe, CA!  So we flew down cause my dad and I were in the wedding.  For some reason, that my brother, my dad and I couldn't figure out, my sister didn't go!  Now a week after we come back, my sister calls me crying....And I hadn't heard from her since the day she turned 18.  That's 9 months later?  Well, she said she needed me to be at my dads on this certain date, can't remember the date of the day.  But it was 2 weeks before July 20, 2005.  So here I am, I show up at my dads.  And he is quite curious as to what's going on as I am.  MY sister shows up with her bf, and his mom.  And she is 9 months pregnant and she actually had my nephew on July 20...  LOL  And she tried to hide on my brother who showed up, but come on how long can a pregnant person hide!  LOL  So the day my nephew is born we go to the hospital after she wakes me up at freaking 2 am to tell me she was in labor, and I had to be at work 3 hours later!  PERFECT TIMING!  aha!  So two months later in September...I apparently got pregnant, didn't know for 7 months...yada yada yada...

Here I am today with two kids and one on the way.  Many of my friends have been having babies and what not.  SO he asks me today...

"So when a woman goes around a newborn baby, do her ovaries go into full bore baby making mode and starting poping out eggs galore to be fertalized?"

And I looked at him funny because this came out of the blue, and asked what he meant....

he says, "Well, your nephew was born, and 2 months later BAM your pregnant, and yet we didn't know...Your holding Claire (our daughter) at 3 months, BAM your pregnant again....You apparently spread baby fever cause while your pregnant with Grant (my son) my oldest sister get's pregnant...She has my nephew, 3 months later, BAM my middle sister is pregnant...3 months later BAM your pregnant again!"

I go on to laugh really hard....Cause I never really thought about all that...

So he asks me again, but this way, "So does the biological clock start ticking when someone else gets pregnant, or when someone see's a baby who they are related to in some way?"

so I just want to hear what you guys think on this...I actually think it's an interesting question, that maybe there really is something behind it!  Who knows...

Avanaar~  I think it's awesome to have to many generations...In my family, my grandparents aren't alive, I never knew them, so It's my dad, me my kids sort of thing...But on my husbands side this baby will make 4 great great grandkids...His grandma's(moms side) parents are still alive, and his dad's side is the same.  Their great grand parents are still alive...So 5 generations.  It's crazy!  Definately a full house on holidays!  I think when we have a get together, we have cars all over the street, taking up every spot, and the house is so full that were lucky there is 6 bathrooms LMAO!

When we have babyshowers for just the family, it's crazy cause we pretty much get everything and so much more.  Insane!

Ashie ~ Yer post was too cute!  =D  I know when my best friend got pregnant, I *so* wanted to start trying too.  But I'm glad I waited!  =D

As for my family ...on my mother's side I have two uncles and threetwo aunts.  There were a total of 9 grandchildren, the oldest is now 38 or 39 and the youngest (twins) are 17 or 18.  =D  Before the last three were born (my brother and my aunt's twins), we used to get all the family together on Thanksgiving at my grandparents' house.  It was a lot of fun ...but definitely a full house!!  So I can't imagine having more than that!!  =D  Also, my oldest cousin (I'm the third oldest) has a son ...so there's one (soon to be two) great-grandson's on my mom's side of the family.  =D  Hooray for four generations!

On my dad's side, I had two uncles and two aunts ...they have kids and their kids have kids ...but I didn't even try to keep track of his side!  lol  I got way too confused.  I also have two step-sisters who have a total of five kids (the youngest was born this Sept).

Lastly, on my bio. dad's side, I have an uncle and aunt ...I have (that I know of) five cousins (4 girls, 1 boy) ...and I have two half-sisters ...so that's a total of 8 grandkids on that side.  =D  Also, my oldest cousin had a son a few years ago, so that's at least one great-grandkid on that side of the family.

I don't see or talk to much of my dad and bio dad's family ...and I don't know how often they themselves get together.  I know my mom's side are always getting together and vacationing with each other ... in fact my two uncles and their wives are going to be visiting my Gma this month ...so she'll have three of her kids with her!  (My mom lives a couple miles away from my Gma).  I know she loves having her family in town ...I just wish I could visit more often!

Ok, sorry for that long post that may have wandered off topic.  =D  But I *loves* my family!  <3

holy cow!!!!

Motherofan18month~  so your brothers and sisters...the first 4 are all a year apart?  holy smokes!  My kids so far are 10 months 3 weeks apart, were suppose to be exactly 1 year but my son decided that wasn't happening.

My nephew is 10 months 3 weeks older than my daughter, and my daughter is to my son LOL and the my dh's nephew is 8 months 6 days younger then my son, and his up come neice is scheduled for a c-section (due to placenta previa) dec 21 ....

I seriously think there is something up here!

Motherofan18month~ I am sorry that you and your SIL had to go through that twice, but on the brighter side of it you guys knew exactly how the other was feeling at the same time, so you had someone there for you!

Kels123-  It's a good thing and a bad thing, think of all the birthday presents we have to buy.....  It gets insane!  Out of all the people there is only ONE month without a birthday, and that's February!!  So my husband and I got married in February!  Feb 21, exactly a week after valentines day and then 1 1/2 before my birthday, but I kind of want to have this kid in feb.  LOL  I'm expected to go feb 22 to mar8....  SO maybe i can change that lol

No I did not know.  I wasn't showing, and had no signs.  Besides the missed period that even the doctors thought was because of my thyroid disaster, I had taken over 40 tests and they were all negative.  It's not that hard to believe.  There are people I know who didn't find out till they were in labor at 40 weeks.

Sugar_Sally888~  18 grandkids?  CRAZY!  Ahaha!  I can only imagine!  On my husbands family get togethers, good god.  Well his mom side, of all his cousins and sisters he is the oldest at 25!!  He has 30 girl cousins! 1 boy cousin who is severely handicapped thanks to his mom.  3 of his cousins each have three crazy kids, then one sister has a kid, the middle one is due in dec, and the other is 16....On his dads side, let's see mimxture this time 15 boy cousins, which there is only one older than him and it's by 2 months, and 13 girls that i've met there is 2 more that haven't been over from utah yet....   CRAZY!  Ahaha, it's insane.

I don't even know how many cousins i have, nor would i since i only have seen them once like when i was 4.  Ahaha

I think pregnancy must be catching.  At least in my family.  I have 5 sisters, 1 bro.  I am pregnant with my first.  This baby will be no 18 grandchild for my mum.  One sister will have her 4th just before me, another sister's 3rd baby is currently 3 months old.  Of all these kids, the oldest is 13.  The next is 8, and then they all go down from there in terrifyingly close succession.  You can imagine how crazy family get togethers would be.

I had taken over 40 tests and all were negative!  Even a urine test at the doctors came out negative!  Only a blood test revealed!  But I had this surge in my thyroid happen and my doctor and an endocrynologist thinks that that surge for a week screwed up my body to make everything say negative!  I always thought the kicks were just my stomach gurgling or like something I ate ahaha!  I had no signs besides the missed period

So let me get this str8 you didn't know you where pregnant until you were 7 months? How did that go unnoticed? Didn't you feel kicks, and movements and no period. Umm I have irregualr cycle but everytime I got pregnant I knew. I don't see af sometimes for 4 or 5 months apart. But 3 pregnancies and I never got a neg. I always knew. Maybe I misunderstood you. Is that what you where saying?

Haha, that gave me a good laugh...but you know, it's weird, when i get around people who are pregnant or have babies, I get all gushy and start wanting a baby. Of course I don't have any yet, but maybe there is some type of osmosis thing to do with it....who knows. We are pretty crazy like that though. :) Thanks for the story Ashie!
