Braces?

Does anyone know if you can get braces (for your teeth) while pregnant? I'm 15 weeks 1day I have been wanting to before I got pregnant but I just never made a dentist appointment to go and so now I was wondering...

Since needing braces won't affect yours or baby's health they won't risk xray. Yes they it's just your mouth and they could protect your belly but still risky.

They do have to do an X-Ray prior to the treatment. I've had my braces for a year and 8 months.

Nope. X-Ray while pregnant is a no-no. My dentist won't do them when I'm pregnant but when I was pregnant with my son and I didn't know it yet I had an x-ray and a massive tattoo done..and he's totally fine. And my ob said that if it's super early the baby is so protected that it's okay just not recommended.

No you can't get it. My sister tried to get them while pregnant but they told her no because of the x-ray and stuff

Yeah the xray is just your mouth you should be fine.

Well any X ray they do would just be on your face and they put the lead vest over you to protect your baby if they do an X ray. I think you should be able to get them with no problems

Do they have to do like an X-ray or something cause that's a no-no right? And I've been trying to google but haven't found good information on it.  I should call my ob to see what he thinks. Thanks though I don't see why I wouldn't be able to get them either

I don't see why not. When I got braces I don't remember getting any drugs or anything so I'm pretty sure you can.
