Can I Tie My Tubes??

I will be almost 21 when I deliver my second via c-section. I live in Florida currently. I will be having a difficult csection due to anesthesia problems. I have a genetic disorder and severe nerve damage from my first.. do you think they will let me get them tied? We only want two.

Depends on the doctor and area. I was 20 when I got pregnant and delivered and was OKed to get sterilized if I wanted because I was adamant that I didn't want more, but the cost put us off - so my husband was sterilized instead. (I only have one child as well) Talk to them and see what they say, and mention your history. Make sure you're sure you're done, and if you are don't let anyone make you feel any other way. I've been told numerous times I made a mistake and I know I didn't - young doesn't mean you don't know what you want.

Financially, things could be better years down the road, and you never know what might change physically, I agree with the 5yr IUD idea, maybe you can have some time to think about it? If you want more kids, it's probably not the best idea to make such a permanent decision so young. I'm 21, this is my 2nd, and there is NO way I'm getting my tubes tied, not for a long while either, I know about 6-7 people that have had their tubes tied young, and every single one of them regrets it, one of my friends had her tubes untied and now she isn't able to get pregnant! So definitely think about it lots!

I would say with ur history they might without argument but most will try and get you to use a more long term bith controll like a 5yr IUD..i would start talking to your doctor now. Good luck to you i hope everything goes better this time.

I hope they will, I personally would love more kids but financially and physically I am uncapable. I fractured my pelvis woth my first and severed a nerve to my leg that made walking difficult for the first 8 months and my leg is now permanately numb.. now I am 16wks and in alot of pain from the pressure on my pelvis and it will only get worse :-( urg.

Most will try to talk you out of it, with good reason, you never know where 10 years will take you. But where I live you either have to be 21 or 3 kids before they will consider it, you can ask, if not I'm sure you can find a doctor that will, good luck!
