Can you find out sex at 16 weeks?

So I have a doc appointment on Thursday and ill be 2 days away from being 16 weeks pregnant. Has anyone else found out the sex of their baby that soon? My friend didn't find out until 20 weeks...I'm so anxious to find out that I don't want to be let down if my doc says no. :(

Usually they won't even look between the legs until 18-20 weeks because they're better developed. They look exactly the same until 13-14 weeks. My cousin was told 80% chance it was a boy at 16-17 weeks and it was right. But my other cousin was told girl at that time, and it was a boy. And I've known several women on here who were told one sex, and it ended up being the other because it was too early.

Most docs like waiting till at least 20 weeks so that the data is more precise. I think the waiting for that is one of the worst things in pregnancy. God I hated not knowing what I was having! Due to schedule conflicts, I was 24 weeks before I found out.

My doc waited till 20 weeks. (just found out today) she said she could have guessed at 17 weeks when I was there last time but that they usually wait till 20 weeks at her office to be sure so it may just depend on your dr office.
