Car Bump

I'm 41 weeks pregnant exactly, and just had a bump in my car :(

It was't high impact, I'm lucy if we were both going at 10mph as pulling into a car back - I was pulling into a space and the other car started pulling out the adjacent space, so my fornt passenger side and her rear driver side bumped.   Swapped details etc so thats ok.

It literally happened like 10 mins ago and baby been moving about since it happened.     Should I tell my Midwife? x

midwife called me back and made me go to L&D to get checked.   Foetal HB good, I had 4 contractions while i was there, although not very long ones, so got to go home again.   so BD and I are goiung to have our tea and go for a nice walk up a big hill, see if wqe can encourage them along a bit :) x

i would wait for the midwife's call, but i wouldn't be worried. an impact like that (opposite of where you sit) and at a speed of 10 mph is highly unlikely to hurt you or baby.

If she doesnt call back in an hour try her again..and ya just monitor the cramping like write it down it could be your cervix or pelvic muscles ready to have the baby maybe like it practicing going into labor...I mean from the accident I think your body would be still in a lot of shock also like u would be cramping along with full body aches or severe back pains also...when my mom was in labor with me she said that her back was in alot of pain and she has period cramping but times 12

I called her 45 mins ago, I don't know how long to give her before trying to call again.   I'll watch them over the next couple hours and see how they are, I'm in Scotland, so you can't just turn up to L&D without an appointment, its normally the Midwife that calls ahead to let them know you;re coming in for a checkup, otherwise they won't admit you, and if you go to A&E you wait for hours til you are seen by an A&E Dr x

Ya thats kind of a hard call eeekk and I totally agree with u being hesitant about going to the er..I would give the midwife a chance to call u back but if the cramping pain does increase then go to the er..I would monitor the cramps and kinda time them to see if they progress or stay the same..

Its sore under the bump, where my seatbelt would have been, and I've been cramping the last few days so its hard to tell whether the cramps I have now are because of the bump or because I'm overdue :/

I feel like I pester the MW for everything :/     hoping she phones me back soon because I don't fancy turning up to L&D to be turned away again x

The rule of thumb is go to the hospital when u get in any accident

I got into a car accident back in march and I was 30 weeks this guy wasnt bright and driving like speed racer and cut some guy off so he didnt give him anny reaction spacr between his car and my stepdads and rear ended him but we were going the same speed also...I was furious and had to calm myself down but my baby was fine he was moving and like the next day I just had bad back pain but thats it...I wasnt as far along as u are though but if u arent getting like bad cramping then u should be good and u took the step of contacting your mid wife

I've just left a message for her to call me back, as she is the only midwife on duty as the other is off sick.   Im a week past DD and had a couple pains in my lower bump since it happened, so I'm hoping babes is alright.   No sign of waters or anything as I've just been to toilet and checked.    I'm a ftm so get worried ++ x
