Contracting

Im 8months, 3weeks pregnant......The cab I was in got into an accident. I go so scared and started having abdominal pains so I went 2 the hospital. They said I was having contractions and I was dialated 1 Cm. I was there for 24hours. Now Im home still having contractions and the contractions are more stronger, kind of frequent, but at times they go away for a little bit.

***How do I know if I've dialated more? Am I going into labor early since Im 1cm dialated? Am I supposed to be having contractions or is it normal 2 have them during this time in my pregnancy? Is this only a labor scare? Should I go back to the hospital?

I was at 1cm for about 3 weeks before I went into labor. Like the last poster said BH contractions can be super strong and the closer you get to the big day the stronger they are going to be. What you should try doing is changing positions if you can change positions and they go away then they aren't real contractions. When they get to be every 5 minutes lasting for 1 minute for an hour that is when you should go to the hospital. I don't want to scare you but at 38 weeks I got into a car accident and the next day my water ended up breaking so pay close attention to what is going on because any jolt at that stage could put things into motion.

I had dialated to 2 cm for more than a week before I went into active labor.  You can have BH contractions during those last weeks and some of them can be fairly strong.  If your contractions get closer together and remain consistent, you should call your doctor again and/or go back to the hospital to get checked.

Good luck.
