Contractions?
I was due yesterday, and am being induced next week, but this morning around 2:30-3 I woke up to a pressure that felt like the need to have a B/M so I went to the bathroom, and I could go, but I didn't have to (just felt the need to), and felt slight pressure in my back/abdomen vaginal/rectal area, I ignored it and went back to sleep. Since then I've been feeling coming and go lower back/abdomen pressure and rectal/vaginal pressure, it's got to the point where I can't sleep through it and I've been up since around 4:30 for good. I've been losing my mucus plug all through the night as well. Is this considered a contraction? I always thought contractions were supposed to hurt your stomach, not the areas mentioned, (this is my first baby so I don't know what to expect), I also have never had painful contractions, uncomfortable, but not painful, and it's getting to the point where I have to breath through these. Could it just be the baby pressing down, or could it be contractions? I was in L&D for a NST on Sunday and I wasn't dilated much at all, so it is possible to go into labor this quickly?

I think she is as well. Certainly sounded like she was in labor. :) So excited for her.
I've taken a couple naps and woke up because the contractions are too strong they hurt pretty bad, so I'm taking a shower and going to L&D. Hopefully this is it, I just don't want to get there and tell me it's not real labor, but better off getting checked I guess! Thanks ladies I'll update today when I get home, if I don't then I guess I'm in labor!
it sounds like the real thing or close to it do all the double checking you need to do but if i were you i would go to labor and delivery let us know
Just another comment, when I labored with my oldest, I couldn't sleep all night, but the contractions never got closer than 7 minutes apart, but they consistently lasted about 55 sec to a minute. When I arrived at the hospital, I was at 5 cm, so even though it wasn't the traditional "5 minutes apart", it did the job. It's very strange, but when you watch the clock, they truly start and stop right on the exact time on the second hand (at least they did for me). So weird.
Kimberly, I think this is it, double check your hospital bag, call your husband and mom to come pick you up and go to L&D.

It sounds like definite labor to me!!! Do your last minute check of your hospital bag and stuff.....you're almost done!!
The pain is starting to get horrible, I'm going to start timing them, I think this is it, because EVERYTIME I go to the bathroom I lose globs of my mucus plug and theres a ton of spotting, not to mention the pain of these contractions. Hopefully something happens or these go away, I've been having them since 2:30-3 this morning, and my contractions never go on this long. They're also starting to get longer and longer. I'll post on here before I go to l&d if I do!
sounds like how i went with my first baby too! sounds like labour to me. i think you need to go to the hospital. have a healthy baby and safe delivery!
This sounds like my first labor and all of your symptoms matched mine. I had a lot of back labor, so it didn't seem like traditional contractions, but they were. See if you have a pattern to them (not just how many in an hour, but the exact time they are happening). You will know when it's time to go to the hospital, because you just won't be able to stand it anymore. The more early laboring you can do at home, the better, because it can take awhile to get up to 4 centimeters. You are probably doing all of that work right now and I'll bet you will be at the hospital before the end of the day today.
