Dealing with a cold

So yesterday out of nowhere I began getting a runny nose and just thought it was because it was kinda chilly out but this morning its stuffed and a cough is kinda forming too. Now I know we can't take just anything to for a cold but I was wondering if you girls had some like natural remedies to help a developing cold? Im 25weeks pregnant and I really don't want to take any meds but if really have to I will. Thanks in advance!

I had a terrible head cold for almost a week, finally getting over it. My Dr specifically said NOT Musinex; it contains an active ingredient that can be a risk factor. The others are fine, like Tylenol cold&flue, or Tylenol sinus& allergy. Also benadryly might help. Honestly, you just have to treat the symptoms and hang in there until it passes. I basically ate cough drops, used vicks vapor rub and a humidifier, and tissues with lotion. Drink ridiculous amounts of water!

I have a list of medicine you can take while pregnant in my journal,
It won't make it go away but it will help With symptoms. Unfortunately colds and flus have to run their course

I have been sooo sick since Saturday so I finally gave in and got antibiotics from my Dr but she told me the safe things to take are mucinex( if your having that deep mucousy cough) and cough drops. Ammoxicillin is generally very safe and that's what I was prescribed. The natural remedies I tried was hot water, honey, and lemon forget the tea since caffeine dries out your throat. Also eucalyptus oil which is found in the OTC chest rub is amazing I put that on in the bathtub n I can breathe and sleep much better. Hope you start feeling better because being sick and pregnant is awful!!

I'm 10 weeks now but at 6 weeks I had a terrible cold!! It's ok to use throat lozenges, and to use saline nose spray not regular nose spray! As welll as warm tea with honey and lemon through out the day!! Feel better :)
