Did i have a miscarriage and is this normal?
Hi there, i really need some advice as i dont know whats going on here.
4 weeks ago my breasts started to feel tender i took this as meaning my period would come along anyday. I do have 2 children so have experienced pregnancy before.
About 2 weeks ago i started getting some brown stuff which i thought to be blood or old blood and it did not smell very pleasent this meant i had to wear sanitry protection. I did not have any pains.
Then about 1 week after i started bleeding bright red and i had awful cramping pains something i never get when im on my period usually i get tender breasts and then theres my period with no other warnings. On day one of the red bleeding last monday i started getting clots smallish some were larger again something i never get. The pain become unbearable so i saw my gp who said they suspect miscarraige but to see how it went and return the next day if no better. The next day was much the same lots of clots changing my sanitry protection once per hour at least ( wearing night time pads too) and so i returned to see the dr who said ' treat it as your period' despite me saying all the above and me never having pains like it before or clots like i was having. He told me to take ibruprofin and thats that. However the next day the clots became worse and as i walked my son to school litrally 3 mins from my home i felt a funny and uncomfortable sensation and i knew something was in my sanitry towel, i had to hurry home with my legs appart and feared looking inside my underwear. When i did i had passed a clot bigger then a golf ball. I instantly called my drs and they told me to bring the clot in and see a different dr so i did that and the dr said this is a severe clot and should not be like that. She booked me in for an emergency scan which ive found out today is tuesday (14/6). 5 days after the over a golf ball sized clot passed!! Since the clot passed thursday i have felt a bit better but uncomfortable and aching inside my ovaries ache, my abdomin and back. I also have had very bad sharp pains that feel like they are coming from my back passage and im struggling to go to the toilet and it hurts... is this all normal?? does this or can this happen after a miscarriage? i am still bleeding but i have had no clots for 2 days including today. The bleeding is also more controllerble. I am annoyed i have to wait because for me the worst bit is over but my back passage feels odd and it feels odd to sit down to start with too.
Can anyone give me some advice? as tuesday and my scan is still 3 days away would like to know if anyone else experienced anything like this?

Thank you for sharing your story.... i appreciate it, i also have pcos (polycystic ovaries) perhaps its why my ovaries are now aching.... i saved the clot and showed the dr but she didnt comment only said it should never be that big.... you see i never had a positive preg test because my periods are all over the show... last time i tested was may 4th and it was neg.... wished id of known not that i could of changed the outcome
Sorry, as for the back passage pain, I don't know, I don;t recall feeling anything like that afterwards. Maybe mention it when you see someone at the hospital.

sorry to hear of your loss, I have lost 3 pregnancies, my 3rd was a natural miscarriage at 6 weeks. I will share my story, it was the day after new years day 2003 and me and my dh had gone into town to buy some sale stuff. i went to the loo while out and when i wiped there was pinkish blood on the paper every time i wiped. We went straight to the doctors who said put your feet up and rest, nothing else can be done.
i went home and the bleeding continued to get heavier and i had crampy pains and back ache. There were also small clots too....a day after the bleeding started I went to the loo and as I sat I passed a largish clot and heard it splash into the toilet. I immediately called my dh and then the hospital who said to come in asap. I was checked over at the hopsital and told my cervix was closed and it looked like a complete miscarriage, but if i had any pain on nasty smells down below to come back. I'm pretty sure they scanned me from memory a week later just to make sure there was no remaining tissue. I bled for just under a fortnight after the miscarriage and the pain was better once the clot had been passed.
All you can do is wait and see what the scan shows, I hope it has all passed for you and d&c is not required, i had a d&c after my 2nd pregnancy and it wasn't the nicest.
