Fetal Heart Rate 118 at 6 weeks 2 days?

Went to the first u/s and everything looked good, the u/s tech said 118 was normal for 6 weeks 2 days. Practitioner said it was a little slow. Any advice/support?

just went back...FHR jumped up to 176 at 8 weeks 2 days! makes me breathe easier

I always heard anywhere between 120-180 is normal... 118 is not far off from that and it probably spiked above that at some point....  The heart beat is pretty fresh at this stage and will most likely increase a bit....

I believe I read heartbeats under 90 is cause for concern

Yeah, it was just concerning and stressed me out but there are varying rates of what are normal. Very frustrating.

Hi, These heart rates are generally just a sample. To do a good fetal monitoring you need to be on the machine for about an hour. The rate changes all the time. If you were resting your baby may have been. The rate will go higher if you have a drink of very cold water maybe try that next time. I wouldn't worry about these rates they sound good to me. Hopefully all goes well let us know. Good luck
