Freaking out a little

So I just went to the Dr today 34 w 6 d and came out with bad news...he said my son is small, but maybe I just make small babies my first was 6lbs 4oz at 38 1/2 weeks.  The other problem is my bp was high and that was why my other son was taken early I had pre-eclampsia.  I feel so much bigger with this guy.  Had anyone had this happen and the baby is fine?? I'm so worried that I did something wrong :-(

I guess my biggest concern is the difference in the head and the stomach area.  Yes, I have to limit my activity and they will recheck my bp next week.  I'm just scared three weeks is to long to wait to find out if he is growing properly.

My perinatologist said that those measurements are accurate within 15% or so, but they get less accurate the further you are along. So he might be on the small side, but not as small as you think. And I get ultrasounds every week, and every few weeks they do a growth check. She's gone from 52% to 37% and back up to average...the quick drop from one growth check to the next scared me a bit, but the very next one she was back to average. Not sure if she just had growth spurts or the ultrasound really isn't that accurate.

The farther along you are the more there will be differences in babies size(different genes-like your Dr said, you may just make small babies)...at the begining babies tend to follow the same developement... but as they get older there is a difference in size, ect... thats why they rate them in percentile... and because your baby is still in the normal growing range... just in the smaller percentile... i wouldnt worry about it.... i would keep an eye on your BP tho especially with your history...

Well they did the belly measure thing and that was what preempted the u/s.  He is in the 16%. His head is measuring ahead and his stomach is two weeks behind.  So that worries me the most I know that they can be off, but isn't it the whole body that's off not the separate parts??

How did he determine that the baby is small? Did they do an ultrasound? A lot of times they are wrong. With my first daughter they told me she was a big baby and she was born weighing 6lb, 3oz.
