we have the sonline b doppler we bought and we first herd ours at i think 11 weeks we took it with us to the doctor so we knew what to listen for it sounds like a horse galloping anything is the blood flow, the placenta, and so forth if you go to you tube you can watch peolple listen to there baby and it will help you tell whats what

I've been hearing mine since week 10 ...I actually took it with me to the doctor to learn to use it properly.
They say the wooshing sound is nutrients flowing through the cord that baby heart beat sounds like a choo choo train or a horse galloping :)
My midwife said it's often not possible to hear baby's heartbeat with a dopler pre 16 weeks. It's possible the first wooshing sound you heard was the placenta and the new sound is baby's heartbeat.
